Not to mention the threat of someone skimming your credit card. Apple pay is definitely secure.I use Apple Pay as it is totally secure since my fingerprint is required to both unlock the phone and also make payment. 0.15% per transaction fee which is passed back to the customer is definitely worth it for the convenience and security of Apple Pay.
Much better than carrying a credit card around where a thief can purchase multiple times using contactless before the terminal asks to input the pin.

We have UPI. Why will anyone use complicated Apple Pay ?No Pakistan... I am rubbing my eyes. India is not on the list?

How is Apple Pay more complicated? It takes literally seconds to do a transaction vs scanning a QR code with UPI.

Relative to UPI, which is now the default Indian payment method-
1. It's complicated in the sense that you need a credit/debit/store card. You don't with Upi. It plugs to your bank account directly and seamlessly.
True, but Apple Pay does somewhat support sending money between people but that is really not a major feature and is mostly a hacked in add-on.2. It's not versatile. Apple pay is consumer to business. UPI is used to pay to businesses but also between people 2 people.
Well yes because the Indian Government is paying its costs...but I'm sure they aren't going to pay costs if it starts being used Internationally.3. UPI is absolutely free. No charge for merchant or consumer for the transaction.
For security/control reasons I don't think Apple will bend. Google apparently did.Any financial payment system that does not use UPI in India is unlikely to succeed. Apple can use UPI to launch a payments system in India just like Google has done. Google Pay is pretty popular in India, it uses UPI.
I don't think it's a security issue. There is two factor authentication on all UPI transactions and you can set your own limits for the maximum amounts can be transferred. For security/control reasons I don't think Apple will bend. Google apparently did.

By the way, the number of people using WeChat payments has exceeded 1.3 billion, and the number of Alipay users has exceeded 900 million.
