It isn't that, it's about our history, our colonial history.I think the national Indian character, yes I am going there, to the extent it exists, thrives in grey areas and promises of more to come with amenable stake holders
What we will learn is the handling of black and white questions forcefully posed, will be interesting
Let the questions be asked, first. The first two are hypothetical; the third has been answered in full.I think the national Indian character, yes I am going there, to the extent it exists, thrives in grey areas and promises of more to come with amenable stake holders
What we will learn is the handling of black and white questions forcefully posed, will be interesting
Will you support a US defence of Taiwan?
Will you throw your heft behind a brics currency?
Will you substantially buy more strategic Russian weapons?
Answers to these live questions will either please or displease, I am just repeating myself right now
Yes, true, but it is not acceptable even to the clowns who govern us at the centre that we should be invited to join a military alliance in embryo, while simultaneously our own terrorist gangs are given free play. What is the purpose of QUAD for India?
The four Quad members have played a major role in purposefully redefining the "Asia-Pacific" as the "Indo-Pacific", to deepen trans-regional ties between the Indian and Pacific Ocean areas, and to, in their words, deal more effectively with the rise of China in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Then that's it, that's the actual answer! If they know where they are going, they have a death-wish.
Let us see. Frankly BRICS without India shrinks a lot.I think there is a strong realization among BRICS members that India is an odd member in this group. India is the most important ally of the United States, It has tremendous businesses interests with the US. It has strategic alliances & agreements with the United States. India has strongest defense ties with the US. India is a beneficiary of dollar led economy. BRICS can never achieve its full realization with india in it. Either India has to shift its stance more towards global south + China / Russia OR BRICS need to cut away from the india. Otherwise, BRICS will remain a ceremonial organisation without any practicality.
Of course, I am referring solely to Brazil and South Africa. Then that's it, that's the actual answer!
Forget Pakistan, I have in this discussion, there is no neat symmetry but they both have to work around given parameters, not set their own, true for most of the worldIt isn't that, it's about our history, our colonial history.
We didn't lick the backsides of the colonial masters, but the founders of a parallel state did, and got their ends.
In spite of the Anglophile of some of the best Indian leaders, there was that opposed urge to shadow, with some distancing, the effort to create a more equal society in Soviet Russia, an effort that was also largely, ideologically, a European effort.
So there was this distance right from the outset, and only the hammering that a politically debilitated Army got at the hands of the PLA broke down some of the barriers, and make India reach out to the US. Not to the UK, that throughout the post-independence period played a more extreme game of baiting the republic than the Americans did, but with much less grand-standing. Of course, there was the steely realisation that grew over the years, that the west was definitely not friendly, and this was reinforced both in 1965 and in 1971. This was not a passing whim, but lasted until Manmohan Singh's Prime Ministership.
I somehow am unable to understand your sustained effort to show that India had the same but opposite positioning as Pakistan, that there was no difference between the two. It might seem convenient, and might create an illusion of natural symmetry, but that kind of desktop natural symmetry is not always reflective of reality.
Let us see. Frankly BRICS without India shrinks a lot.
Of course, I am referring solely to Brazil and South Africa.
India doesn't take instructions from US. We aren't dependent on IMF largesse like some countries are.India received instructions from the US
Wow! This is a new one.Pakistanphobia
Let us see. Frankly BRICS without India shrinks a lot.
