India Blocks Turkey’s BRICS Bid Over Pakistan Ties

Can't believe some members here are expecting india to go phull support for chine/Russia, based mearly on talks of a so called "new world order"/"south block"(whatever that means).

After decades of being their alley in the so called "south block", now that the west don't want to deal with you, india is the coward for having a policy of "waiting it out" and not picking any side?

And the crowd that keeps repeating, "India should condemn Israel for its evilness", in another thread are chearing turkey for pounding the kurds. .

Such hypocrits
Don't worry bro.... why we have to take comments from fanboys seriously.....
India is here today by design...... her robust independent policies.....

India doesn't function as per PDFers views and thoughts.......

This is one of the RARE occasions when I think your post is a really good one.

Go for it.

Not worried, a little amused maybe

so again the question is how much India will and can fit in this direction?

That's it, a seemingly simple straight forward logical question
Its more the other way round. India does not have a choice in this matter. Unlike China, Indian currency is NOT accepted by majority of nations because things backing it are not as much. That being said, India is a big consumer and import market so taking India along is also beneficial for the rest of the founders.

I believe India will indeed align with a banking and financial system that can avoid US dominated one. The price India will pay is that unlike USA, it will not be able to get the "infinite money hack" and will be forced to accept exchange ratios less favourable to it (I believe "Brics currency" will be implemented by swaps of currencies of its founders with possibly a clearing house to trade it with other countries currencies). But then, the butter is still on joining BRICS side for India. If it can bypass US sanctions on Venezuela to buy oil and critical minerals and weapons from Russia then it should go for it.

US and the western financial system will still exist and be actually dominant. Just that countries will not have to negotiate swap deals to trade among themselves and will be saved from the burden of holding the currency they do not know what to do with. India buys a lot of Russian oil and pays in Brics currency OR Russia uses its swap contracts and sells off INR it is holding.

India has mass poverty, rape epidemic, mass communal and multiple problems
It's isolated in its region and not trusted, spreading a dangerous brand of hindutva extremism

Now if India can partake based on it's 1.4 billion overpopulated state, then surely the purpose of BRICS is to.expand to include large markets today and tomorrow like Pakistan or Turkey

No, you think we don't know indians or H's in particular?

I repeat, China will need to India under control to ensure BRICS succeeds or it will be as worthless as saarc
@Nilgiri @Joe Shearer Can you please give Mr Hussain some time to cool off from this thread? The guy is working too hard to derail the discussion here by posting flames and irrelevant things.

India did the right thing..... This grouping is for big boys with big toys & no hue & cry.

There you go, what can be considered controversial in this post.

If India does not go along then there will be an Indian sized hole in this global South endeavour

Yep, India is acting like spoiler for the global south, the South Asian region and BRICS and it's upto China and to a lesser extent Russia to keep India in check

The global south needs change, it doesn't need a India with delusions of grandeur, this is EXACTLY why India is so distrusted in South Asia and every nation is either in open hostility with India or keeps its at arm length

You are a nasty Indian snitch who has been instructed to disrupt BRICS. Everyone understands your role.

Aren't you a member of QUAD which is formed to counter China? China, a major member of BRICS. You are the odd one in BRICS. Sucking both sides dry and pretending you belong everywhere. You can try to play this balancing act, but your daddy America can only provide so many waivers before patience runs out. Before you lift a finger towards Türkiye have a good look at yourself in the mirror.

Pakistan, Pakistan, Pakistan... Just look at you. Everywhere you go Pakistan is the only thing on your mind. LOL Now Türkiye is being lectured BRICS because it is an ally of Pakistan. What a pathetic people. You guys are obsessed with Pakistan. As an Indian, what are you even doing on a Pakistani defence forum?
To be fair though. The same could pretty much apply to Turkey for playing both sides etc

So India needs to act according to what Pakistanis feel is the interest of global south? You can do that when Pakistan has enough clout, until then I guess you just have to watch from the sidelines

How?
Instead of rambling, try for precision and clarity.

The global south needs change,
That is exactly what India embodies, rather than clinging to regressive ideas on society, politics and external relations - taking this disastrous present government as one of ten years, opposed to the prevailing trend in the other 67 years.

That being so, what are you complaining about?

it doesn't need a India with delusions of grandeur,
Such "delusions of grandeur" appear to be nothing but the labels used by those who hate to see an India driving ahead, particularly as an economy, and need to find something, anything to discredit that progress.

this is EXACTLY why India is so distrusted in South Asia
How would you know? You are not even a South Asian. Not any more.

every nation is either in open hostility with India or keeps its at arm length
You mean your country of origin, don't you? The Sri Lankans are conciliatory, where they needed only to have been civil and polite; the President of the Maldives buzzes around like a horse-fly, making nice noises; Bangladesh is trying to re-discover herself, and will need time to get back to normalcy, and nobody can say which way that cat will jump.

Finally you have nothing concrete to say, but mutter weird things into your beard:

I do not like thee, Dr. Fell,
The reason why I cannot tell,
But this I know and know full well,
I do not like thee, Dr. Fell.

In fairness, in reality, India has stood up to the west on certain issues, it's picked and choosed

But it's Russia stance was solid, it's insistence on its independence is solid

India has for example not purchased Iranian oil, it placated the USA there

It has stated no position on Gaza barbarism and the settler colonialism, which for a formerly colonised global South self purported leader leaves a white elephant in the room

BRICS was held in Kazan, a city with islamic heritage, that's not an accident, it's a signal.

a point of divergence then is if china and Russia support Iran unambiguously, India is in an awkward position in this sort of forum, in fact it is outnumbered, founding member or not
