This is a report from Al Jazeera that reveals the amount of support that Israel has received and is still receiving during its war against the Palestinian resistance movements..
Legendary steadfastness in return for all this support..And the limited capabilities of the besieged sector.
The British Ministry of Defense responded to Al Jazeera’s investigation indirectly via British media outlets “Sky, Times, The Sun” by saying that British spy planes operating over Gaza were collecting evidence and handing it over to the International Criminal Court.
British and American newspapers published a data analysis revealing that Britain carried out the largest number of surveillance flights
It is higher over Gaza compared to any other country.
Al Jazeera English dedicated the Behind News program to discuss the outcomes of data analysis supported by information on the nature of military support provided to Israel, and broadcast it extensively throughout the news period.
The investigation received reactions from British influencers and decision-makers demanding an investigation into that support and into that evidence that was revealed for the first time. What is new is the information documented in numbers and visual evidence about the military role of Western governments in what is happening in Gaza and Lebanon.
Open source journalism has allowed us to “know” and that the phrase “Western military support for Israel” does not routinely pass without evidence or deconstruction and is transformed into information revealing the details of the support and the types of military aircraft that hover over Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and sometimes Egypt, and where do they take off from? Are they direct flights or from nearby bases? How many cargo planes, how many reconnaissance planes, how many refueling planes, and how many military personnel transport planes? What is the significance of each number? When did the number of flights increase during the year?
The Sanad Open Source Agency team at Al Jazeera Network monitored and analyzed data for all military flights that passed over Gaza - the full report is in the first comment - and were linked to Western countries during a year of the Israeli war on Gaza. We recorded the following:
6,000 military flights linked to Western countries since the start of the declaration of war on Gaza, an average of 16 military flights per day. Terrifying number.
1,600 aerial reconnaissance flights from several Western countries over the skies of Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and sometimes Egypt, at a rate of 4 reconnaissance flights per day in the skies.
47% of the total reconnaissance flights are British, as the British Air Force relied mainly on the “Shadow R1” aircraft equipped with advanced monitoring and sensing technologies, enabling it to carry out intelligence tasks and impose continuous monitoring of movements on the ground, with the ability to fly at an altitude of up to 10 kilometers. . It was also equipped with advanced protection systems against the latest generation of infrared (thermal) guided missiles, which enhances its ability to confront any missile threat.
Britain used at least 135 flights of Typhoon warplanes, a multi-role combat aircraft specialized in rapid air response missions.
167 air sorties to Israel using a number of aircraft, the most important of which is the “Oron” aircraft, which is one of the largest Israeli aircraft. The head of the Military Research and Development Department stated, “We have created a machine capable of detecting thousands of targets in seconds and over an area extending to thousands of kilometres.” The aircraft is characterized by high intelligence capabilities. And spy radars powered by artificial intelligence.
1,200 American military cargo flights to Israel, at a rate of 3 military cargo flights per day.
80 flights transporting German military equipment departed from the German Wenzdorf air base to Israel.
350 flights transporting British military equipment to Israel.
1,800 refueling flights over the region, Israel made 950 of them, followed by British forces. With more than 560 air refueling flights.
The issue to consider in this data is that the Israeli reconnaissance planes exceeded their airspace and violated Egyptian airspace, and the American planes approached Egyptian waters in a striking manner.- Available in pictures -
It is important to note that all the reconnaissance aircraft analyzed are manned aircraft, some of which are large and not drones, with the exception of one American, the MQ-4C Triton. The aircraft monitored in the report are considered to have high intelligence capabilities, have a long flight range, and can fly at high altitudes.
The manned aircraft included intelligence crews and operational personnel with multiple roles and missions, and were equipped with advanced, highly efficient surveillance devices, sensors, and radars that allowed them to complete precise and complex missions for long periods of time.
How we tracked the path of those trips in a year.
First step:
Choosing military bases near the Gaza Strip, from which military support flights will depart
For example, a large number of these flights appear at military bases in Cyprus, Greece, and Italy, such as the Paphos base on the island of Cyprus, the Souda base on the Greek island of Crete (an important pillar for US forces and a platform for several military and logistical uses), and the Italian Sigonella base east of Sicily. For America, the Sigonella Naval Air Base is the second largest security command after Bahrain.
Step two
The team collects data on these flights through cooperation with specialized sites such as “Radar Box,” which provides a list of all aircraft that took off or landed in that region during the specified time period.
Step three
Sorting and classifying data to ensure it relates to the file we are trying to study and understand, and in our case it is focusing on military cargo flights, reconnaissance flights, refueling, and transporting military personnel. Using software for purification and filtration.
Step four
Analyzing data to obtain detailed information such as the number of flights, their operators, types of aircraft, and other important details that help us understand the nature of air activities in the skies of the Gaza Strip.
Fifth and final step:
Geographical analysis of flight paths using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, which helps determine the places that aircraft have passed, in addition to visually representing those flights on maps as shown in the attached images.
Understanding the nature of Western military support for Israel with information makes us understand the centrality of the conflict in the region as a whole, its importance and continuation for the Western countries that support it militarily, and even anticipating the future of the war. The most important thing is to put Western governments in embarrassment before their people.
