PAF F-16 | Discussions

This will get replaced by J-10C within 10 years. Mark my words. There's only 1 squadron of F-16C. Too expensive to service. Not worth it.

Unsure, many countries maintain F-16 fleets of just 12-18 planes. Radar, engine and avionics have a lot of commonality with the A/B MLUs. I expect PAF will maintain it, only problem is with each passing year the APG-68 becomes more and more obsolete in a world of AESA radars. Basically this thing would struggle against a Rafale with Meteor.

It's short on spare parts. The US won't even supply to Pakistan anymore. They are cahoots with India. F-16 don't fly without spare parts. The sooner they replace F-16 with J-10C, the better.

Spares are being delivered as is regular maintence, as per US DoD contratc shere

Just a few months USAF F-16s exercised with PAF F-16s in Pakistan.

In the absence of an AWACS, yes

The US has been supplying spare parts regularly for Pak Vipers and this was also a regular occurrence during the embargo days much to the contraire spice brought up by Pakistani conspiracy uncles

Nevertheless, the US is not a reliable partner. Pakistan air force plans to replace F-16 with J-10C ASAP.

So it's a myth that PAF had to buy from Israel / IAI, via an intermediary, for 3 times the price of similar US parts ?

From the geostrategic POV, it's in the US's interest that the PAF keeps on maintaining its F-16 fleet. So, they should ask for OZGUR upgrade like the TurAF ones...

Hi,

It is not. Sanctioned parts were not supplied by US suppliers---. Sanctioned parts cannot be supplied---. It is jail time for whomsoever doing that---and company blacklisted---.
