So the contention is this was built for show? Unlikely. Given that, I don't get thrust of this tweet.

My eye? I see the ship and the purportedly missing component. My question stands: is the claim here the ship has been built for show? Again, unlikely.

Be patient.
IRIN always lag behind.

It took nearly 8 years to fit a MRAM SAM system in Sahand. And nearly same time to get a IR/EO designator for the Kamand CIWS.

This ship will be fitted for the first time in the IRIN and even IRCGN with phased array radar. You don´t see VLS and the Kamand is also literally "blind" with no designator/guidance system.

By the way, Jamaran seems to be equipped back with an Asr o version of it again, judging by the pictures we saw in the last drills with Russia and India.

Exactly. That was the whole point of my challenge to the meaningless tweet.

currently the only role is to keep a few thousand workers employed
Well, I'd put it far more delicately. Training crew, further tests and trials while 'missing' components become ready, etc, etc. Why are these things so difficult to imagine? Why be so simplistically reductive? You should have far more faith in your hard working brethren.

Reza complains about everything these days. So id take his posts with a little bit of namack.

The other day he complained and said Iran should buy J-35. Just not a critical thinker anymore.

Be patient.

IRGC Solemani class ship at least one of them has a new radar already:

So it’s inexcusable that IRIN is this far behind on Eagle Eye which it has years to get ready.

Also IRGC-N doesn’t have their boats sink in harbor during repairs, shoot their own ship in a war game, hit a rock and sink their ship, and lose their only supply ship to an engine fire.

It’s amazing the Iranian Navy commander hasn’t been sacked and court martial’d at this point.

Yet that it is not a fixed search phased array radar like Eagle Eye. It is a FCR same that Kamin-2 /// Mersad16 /// AD-40 FCR. Curiously that is the same radar Sahand was fitted shortly before she capsized and sunk. So we can assume that it has a MRAD SAM system (same as Sahand). If you see it carefully, seems that the IRIN and IRGCN just put a FCR antenna back to back in a rotative device to make it a improvised search radar. But Eagle Eye it is by definition much more advanced being a search fixed phased array radar. We don´t saw even a testbed mast for a prototype, at much a TX/RX module in a old fair.

But again that seems to be a funding problem. IRIN Sahand took 6 years to fit only a MRAD system. During same period of 6 years IRGCN have at least 5 FAC catamaran boats;

FS313-01 with SHORAD SAM system (same as Zulfiqar FAC Nawab).
FS313-02 with no SAM system already
FS313-03 with Kamin-2 /// Mersad 16 MRAD SAM.
FS313-04 with no SAM system already.

That means that in just 6 years IRGCN beated IRIN. And I am not Zulfiqar boats.

Seems that is not a problem of competence. Seems to be a funding problem. IRIN did the first around the world voyage, the first voyage to the north atlantic (russian naval parade) and the first to test iranian navy technology in high open oceanic seas.
