Damn, this thing can carry some ammo, whats the configuration of missiles and pods shown here ?
The YJ-IlIA day and night aiming pod integrates multiple sensors such as infrared thermal imager, television/shortwave infrared camera, laser rangefinder, laser spot tracker, laser pointer, inertial measurement component, etc. It can search, discover, identify and track ground/sea targets under day and night conditions, perform laser ranging and irradiation on targets, and guide laser guided weapons to accurately strike targets. Having the combat capabilities of new air to surface precision guided weapon deployment guidance, air to ground coordination, and situational awareness sharing in complex battlefield environments, as well as the ability to recognize and mount multiple types of aircraft, it is one of the key equipment for combat aircraft to achieve night vision and precision strike capabilities.Damn, this thing can carry some ammo, whats the configuration of missiles and pods shown here ?

A-5s have been out of service for a decade now.Currently, the plan is to replace delta-winged Mirage with delta-winged J-10Cs, Western F-16s with Western KAANs, and J-7s (as well as A-5s) with JF-17s (except for the No. 8 Squadron, which performs maritime duties with M5s equipped with Exocets, was replaced with JF-17 that could carry CM-400AKGs).
Now KAANs development is being studied but not focused because the a/c meant to replace them is going to serve us well into late 2030s, with structural life and avionics upgrades that is.
Typically, PAF has (or wanted in case of F-16s) 5 or 6 forward combat squadrons of each A/C type, therefore technically I don't see J-35s joining PAF fleet by even 2028 it could be early 2030 for sure as J-10Cs would be filling in to replace Legacy Mirages by then with a total of 5 Squadrons, 1 of which has been already delivered and another one on the way and only then it would J-35s could be seen in PAFs colors and I could assure that a new squadron would be raised or another one name plated as J-35 is whole new ball game.
imho its not just the weapon package and payload its also the flight performance and characteristics anf in that rguard f16 is by far the most capable especially the 52s and jf17 dont even come close to dat in kinematicsA-5s have been out of service for a decade now.
JF-17s are targeting both F-7 and Mirage sqds based on duties - CM-400AKg is also used by another sqd in an ALBM land strike role.
F-16s will be replaced by Kaan as the “western fighter” but that us not happening for another 15 years at the very least.
Which means other sqds will have to undertake some of those duties.
When you replace an aircraft you aren’t just replacing the airframe - PAF has to figure out what will replace the AIM-120C capability, JDAMs and other strike fits.
In that aspect the JF-17 falls short not from a weapons type but payload capacity so the J-10C will start taking over certain duties but it is an expensive aircraft,
The J-35 is likely not seeing the light of day for another 3-4 years unless there is serious strategic compulsion.
Then include all the aspects of UCAV induction - child projects like the PFX and so on and it’s not all simple.
Lastly, not everything in the press is indicative of intention - a lot is “fake it till you make it”
Hi,Look at the bigger picture. How would you know 150 J-10Cs and 75 J-31 Gyrfalcons stationed at various Pakistani air bases are all PAF aircraft and piloted by the PAF pilots?
Finance is not the issue when it comes to buying Chinese military hardware. It's only an issue when buying from the US.

The F-16 is the most capable energy fighter the PAF has - and neither the JF-17(nor the J-10 even if its “close”)match its power to weight ratio and ability to gain energy fastimho its not just the weapon package and payload its also the flight performance and characteristics anf in that rguard f16 is by far the most capable especially the 52s and jf17 dont even come close to dat in kinematics
correct me if wrong
The J35A will enter the Chinese Air Force, while the J10 will gradually be replaced. In the future, the foreign trade type J10CE will be the main production force of this series, and its main use will be expanded from an air superiority interception aircraft to a multi-purpose ground attack fighter according to customer needs.View attachment 79244
Hi,
If it has a Paf's roundel---it is a Paf aircraft---.
Did you mean to say 'foreign bases'---?
