JF-17 PFX program

I think there's an easy explanation for all of this confusion. NASTP is simply showing different and random brain farts from some AVM from that week in every new presentation. That's it. You can try to find the logic and plan for that week but it will all be gone when the next week's presentation/brainfart is unveiled.

Oh rubbish?! I already clearly stated that they are showing various designs with no indication of / if anything finalised so perhaps more prudent to talk about what the PAF official specifically said as opposed to getting hung up on the graphics. Which part of that are u finding ‘rubbish’?
We have no explanation for why different designs are shown, maybe various under consideration? That makes PAF ‘worse than Fanboy’ can I smell butthurt Indians?
"...but the intention and aims / objectives are clearly there."

Yes. Rubbish. Showing two completely different designs, one fourth and one fifth generation, and labelling both PFX next generation fighter does not demonstrate any aims or objectives. It demonstrates their absence.

Suggest you watch the seminar and interviews with PAF officials before jumping to your preconceived conclusions, rooted in deep butt hurt.

First pic shows mechanically moving radar head likely klj7 v2 of block 2. Klj7A has a fixed antenna array as seen in other pics. It does track 50 targets and locks on four concurrently, air-air.
It was 15 as arslan pointed.

Hot Take (for me at least): NASTP can actually revolutionize Pakistan's aerospace sector. Even if the babus are inexperienced, they have hired so many engineers that this young and freely thinking talent will be able to eventually do a lot of things. Impressive things.

BUT there's a big caveat. Like all gov institutions, this success will be possible if NASTP gets a generation of motivated, smart, and pragmatic leadership that knows how to utilize this talent.

This is the weakest link in this whole endeavor. If, however, NASTP was run like a business with the objective to sell products and services, then it's succes will be less at the mercy of lucking into good leadership.
