Pakistan Cricket Legends

Wazir Mohammad (1929-)

Wazir Mohammad, at 94 years old, is the oldest living Pakistani batsman. He was considered a rather unexciting player to watch. His highest score was 189 against West Indies in 1957.

an interesting anecdote about him: When he was about to go out to bat, he noticed a stretcher lying behind the sight screen. It must have been quite nerve-wracking to prepare to face the world's fastest bowlers and then see a stretcher!

Once, while playing in Karachi, he batted for hours without scoring many runs. Someone from the crowd shouted, “ Wazir, Wazir Run Na Bun'ne Paye “

Recently, I received a message from Hanif's son, Shoaib (from New Zealand), expressing his desire to meet me and hear the stories that I may have to share. He mentioned that he is writing a book about his father.

Loved Saeed Anwar.. there was a phase of many years in the 90s where Saeed Anwar, Brian Lara, Tendulkar, and Mark Waugh were absolutely killing it.

Hon'ble mention - Inzy Bhai, but I thin khe was a notch lower than those guys
Inzy was much better than saeed anwar !! Which world u were living in !

He was good. But inzy was a beast..Elegant laziness.
Haan, ye to hai.. languid ease, neend me bhi he'll flick you for 4.. and a beast of a man for power hits.

Anwar was my favorite, though.. ekdum Lara type. Him and Amir Sohail, zabardast salami balleybaaz jodi.

sahi banda hai, Injy .. molvi style ho gaya hai:

Anwar too, but his story is very tragic, lost his kid and turned to god in a big way.

Before the start of the Test series between Australia and Pakistan in 1976-77, Dennis Lillee said he would bounce out Majid Khan and take off Majid's famous floppy hat.

During the Sydney Test Lillee did what he stated and Majid gifted the hat to Lillee. It was all about a healthy competition and all done in a sporting manner.

Pakistan won the Test and left Australia with their heads high by levelling the series against the best team, who nailed West Indies and England previously, in world cricket.
