China just made one and still nor even close to to western one. one of the hardest thing to make.

India also has made it just not the thrust needed.

Lol they are maturing their engines, there are 400-500 WS-10 engines in service and their WS15 engine has begin its trial with J-20 last year there engines atleast on par with Russian engines if not ahead

Why are we still going with these American jet engines? haven't you all seen how the USA single-handedly destroyed Pakistan for not obeying their orders? We should go with the French engines even if they cost more, at least we will not be sanctioned by the Americans when we need our weapon systems the most.
We cannot mess up our prospects with these American engines.

Because the high IQ babus never funded it properly, its still surprising how our scientists and engineers built this with just $55 million and that too over decades. Spending a lot more would've meant an airworthy engine with us but incompetency took over.

I think it is decent comparison, remember Pakistan was ahead of India in all fields. It is just since 2014 India started realizing true potential raced ahead with right politician Modi at helm.

Now I agree with you and Indias have start looking up to China and competing with them but Indias still love to poke brotherly country Pakistan.

Exactly, Kaveri was a low hanging fruit which just needed some more funds to flow in. Modi has been a failure in defence sector as bad as congis were.

True but remember Kaveri would never be ready to use in time for Tejas no many resources govt throws. So getting Tejas inducted was high priority with imported engine and I agree with that decision as many other home grown systems evolved. But as I said they should use it for trainers and UAVs ASAP.

Also we are trusting HAL and DRDO too much they are also same chatte batte as govt babu and other officials. Streamlining those organizations is correct thing government is doing.
