What if during failed Turkish coup, 10,000s troops left the army and formed opposition group, would Turkey have tolerated them or ordered military operations to finish the rebels. Bashar Al Assad ordered the military action against rebels as would any government in the world. I do agree if he is not strong enough for power for 1 decade, he may aswell negotiate with Turkey and leave power to Turkish backed interim government in return for peace and stop the killings. Not sure how the new government would deal with HTS and Kuridsh rebels, we might even see a new war between the new government and Kurdish rebels or even HTS salvation government.

There are a democrasy in Turkiye and President ERDOGAN always was selected by Turkish People in real democratic elections like in USA , Germany , France , The UK , etc
But there is no real democracy in Syria and the ASSAD Family has been ruling Syria with oppression and cruelty since 1975.
if ASSAD had been an elected leader and there were those who rebelled against him, then Türkiye would have supported the government that had come into power through democratic elections.

These are your assertions and we need to see proper evidence and then analyse the data. Maybe 3-400,000 Syrian civilians in 14 years have died but that has multiple factors from different parties. Not all of them were killed by SAA/RuAF/Iranian militia etc,
Turkish supplied Azeri oil has most likely helped kill over 100K Gazans in 10% of the timescale of the Syrian civil war.
The entity is an illegitimate presence in the region unlike the others that are local and legitimate.
