JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

Aerospace grade aluminum. Maybe titanium if we want to get fancy.
Both a necessary component of minituaised nukes. Like for MIRV. So the basic expertiese in there. Though scaling up Titanium production for use in aircraft is not simple to put it mildly.

It says "option of" installing, not installing. This means that if or when they are available, the regular RD-93 can be swapped out for an MA variant.
Current block IIIs may not be flying with RD-93MAs.
A few of the Block III's do have RD-93MA installed.

It's from this book mate.

Unfortunately this is not confirmation nor anything meaningful.
These statements are made in a personal capacity and not on behalf of the PAF. On top of that, about every ex ACM has gone on to make exuberant claims, usually unrealistic and sometimes demonstratable false. Russia has been silent on the MA since 2020. It was still undergoing development and then the war begun, naturally funding will have dried uo for a project of little strategic significance for the Russians at a time where every penny is needed.

MA is fully developed n available now but PAF has gone for the Chinese variant due to the simple fact that kilamov could not deliver on time due to which block III was delayed....n the russians still can't be relied on for timely delivery n on top of that providing the spares.......due the strain on their resources due to the war.

But then again this is Pakistan n everyone is for sale

has klimov appeared in your dreams and told you this?

I do wonder though, why didn't they go for ws-13, perhaps a supply chain issue?
perhaps it wasnt ready or didnt offer a significant enough improvement, maybe too expensive, no clue.

but bare in mind, we likely signed a deal for x amount of rd93's when we signed the contract, so whether we use them or not, we're probably contractually bound to procure a set qty
