Encouraging to see that Turkey and the Arab states are saying the same thing in this regard so far. Hopefully something can be done on the ground long-term to solve the problems in question.

Arabs and Turkey need to work together with Syrians. No other way as I see it.

TRUMP will definitely try to expand Israel's reach in the region and use gullible Kurds jointly with Israel. Everyone can see it from a far. It was brewing for years.

Old mistakes should not be repeated.

These wars prove only one thing

There is no international law or human rights

Whoever has strength is right

The old say goes

Might is right

There is literally nothing anyone can do to Israel unless they beat them in a open war

And for that you need a top tier Air Force

Not only to fight Israeli Air Force

But also to fight US Air Force

Another words its submission or die

Sorry but Israel cannot be defeated in words and condemnations

They understand only war and fighting

Of course not, that is why they are hiding under the US/West/NATO umbrella since before 1948. They are a Western created colonial outpost for a reason with imported Arab Jews from the region making most of their "foot soldiers" and population nowadays after they forced the Arab Jews to go to Israel.

Reigning them in will require fundamental and strategic changes and not falling into their traps.

You can be 100% sure that if the Syrian rebels had attacked the IDF terrorists, the IDF terrorists would be using that excuse to wage war on Damascus and cry "terrorism", "Holocaust", "babies burned in ovens" and their loyal puppies (USA, WEST) would be supporting them as against Palestine and even calling Syrians for terrorists for defending their land.

We live in a jungle.

Arabs urgently need nuclear weapons and nuclear sharing. Either that or cobalt bombs. Problem here is that Israel is tiny and Palestine and other Arab nations are next door. In many ways this would be a suicidal tactic. Anyway the current status quo cannot continue. We should create our own "Samson option" if it is not already created. 1 small cobalt bomb is enough to permanently destroy Israel.

U guys got regime change in Syria as u wish then cry about china not helping. Give me fucking break boy. You will get what u deserve. China is not anyone mother we don't have to get involved into everyone problem. Deal with it yourself. Wanna do business and make money, improve your citizens lives then come to China and ask nicely. That's it. We can build schools, hospitals , roads anything u want but don't expect china to come and save your azz either. China is not anti West China doesn't want to be dictate by the US on what to do. That's it. You want an alternative system we give u one. Now it's to you to decide what's best and stop crying like little girls. Alot of those anti Assad guys want no part of Russia, Iran, US , Israel in Syria but all of a sudden they criticized china for not interfering into Syria internal affairs. Lmao at least be consistent with your stand and stop making a fool of yourself. It's ridiculous it's laughable 😂 😂 😂 It's best for china to leave u guys alone. Not worth the fight. Go fix your own mess! The middle east as a whole is run by strongman politics and no qualified leader who knows how to run a country. Imagine without oil this region would be done. Period. China best wish is to build up places where they actually really want help and not places where they want chaos and destruction.
Do not project your own imaginations on others.
Who is crying?
I am aware that only muslim nations can help them self in the name of God almighty.

You know the thing is the British actually designated the Israelis as terrorist during the British mandate when Jews killed 1000s of British soldiers and civilians including the bombing of kind david hotel

Even The NY Times referred to these b@stards as terrorist

Then all of a sudden when Jews stopped killing westerners they transferred to tag of terrorism onto the poor Palestinians even although the Palestinians became the victims

These western b@stards know what the Israeli are like

They simply support them because they hate Muslims too

Also anyone thinking that events in Syria and Palestine are not related is unfamiliar with the history of the region. I believe that the future liberation (inevitable) of Palestine was/will be kickstarted when Syria next door will be fully liberated.

If the new Syrian regime does things correctly they will reconcile with their old enemies as they seem to be doing already and extend a hand to their Lebanese brothers in Southern Lebanon as well.

Whatever differences there exists, we can all agree about the destructive role of Israel and that it must be stopped.

Israel is winning because it has a plan and is willing to wield the axe of power unashamedly.
These people do not care about opinions or whether you know that they lie and deceive.
ISRAEL WIPES OUT SYRIA'S MILITARY CAPABILITIES so the new government will not longer pose a threat to them. Israel doesn't care who's in charge of Syria. They can bomb you back to the stone age. Might is right. They are also sending a message to jolani. "**** around and find out" .

Indeed. I think that they had no other choice due to allying against first ISIS and later the Al-Assad regime. Now that both are no longer there, the point of allying with the SDF and not Syria itself is not meaningful any longer.

However as I discussed with @hyperman , I think it is a question of time before SDF loses at least 90% of their territory which is non-Kurdish inhabited but majority Arab inhabited. I don't think that the Turkmens and the small Assyrian (they really dislike Kurds for historical reasons) communities want any part of it.

The only troublemaker in this regard is the sponsor (USA) and partner (Israel).

It is a difficult situation but due to geography only Turkey can defeat the YPG/PKK elements and end that failed project. I hope and trust that they will be able to.

No, Syrians will rule Syria. They did not kick out the Al-Assad regime/Russia/Wagner/Iran/100's of foreign Shia militia terrorist groups, just for others to take their place and "rule" them.

This happened 30 minutes ago.

Turkish back rebel forces have crossed into the easter side of the Euphrates for the first time and are establishing a beachhead to push further east.

Israel is now occupying Mt. Hermon and unverified reports state that their tanks are just miles away from the capital Damascus.

The reasons for occupying Mt. Hermon from an Israeli perspective are worth reading.

Mohammed al-Bashir appointed interim PM

BBC

The rebel leader who helped topple Bashar al-Assad's regime has been appointed as Syria's interim prime minister, local media reports.

In a televised address, Mohammed al-Bashir announces he is set to stay in post until 1 March, to lead the transition government.

Al-Bashir, who has been running the Idlib province, is set to lead a small cabinet to ensure public services can resume. It comes as some government agencies in the country have asked civil servants and health workers to resume duties.

As reported by the National, an Abu Dhabi-based newspaper, al-Bashir governed parts of north-western (namely Idlib) Syria as part of the Syrian Salvation Government, which is a group linked to Hayat Tahrir-al Shams (HTS).

Earlier, the UN's special envoy for Syria said it was important that all groups in Syria worked together. But Geir Pedersen added: "By and large we have seen reassuring statements from the HTS and the different armed groups". Although, Pedersen went on to say there remain "some issues of law and order".

anti US hegemony folks focused more on capacity to outbuild the US in ships missiles and planes and less on saber rattling sabotage fantasies with weak hands they probably wouldn’t be anxiously jumping from one L to the next furious at world events disappointing them.Syria is just not materially important to China. You guys treat it as important by default not off any strategically material basis but by vague symbolic “anti America” association.
If Iran and Russia decide to change course because they can only do so much

On the road to Damascus

Alice Cuddy
BBC Reporting from Damascus

People sit near the border crossing, surrounded by rubble

The border crossing between Lebanon and Syria was full of people this morning heading in both directions.

Cars there were loaded with goods, and people travelling on foot pulled suitcases and carried stacks of blankets and bottles of petrol.

On the road to Damascus, we passed checkpoints manned by armed men who smiled as they waved us through.

At one point, a convoy of rebel vehicles rushed past, with men waving guns out of the windows. A large duty free shop not far from the border had been completely looted. The ground outside was littered with empty boxes and smashed bottles.

There were bullet casings on the ground. We also passed wrecked military vehicles on the sides of the road. Posters and banners of Bashar al-Assad could still be seen along the road, some torn and destroyed.

Arriving in Damascus, the streets felt quiet. A curfew has been introduced by rebels from 16:00 to 05:00 local time (13:00 to 02:00 GMT).

Rubbish strewn on the steps up to a duty free shop
