If your enemy is Nato then decent is not good enough. The evidence is clear. I understand this is off topic but this discussion can be traced back to a post about China's role in the ME.


Feel free to disagree I disagree as well. The US as a whole is far ahead of Russia and China, but I am emphasizing the European countries that Arab countries import from as well.

With regards to Russia it's true the countries that relied on USSR did not do well. However that's in the past there are instances where Russia is at the cutting edge alongside NATO. Few examples: Russia has surpassed the US in hypersonic missile capabilities, S-400 is on par with the patriot system, nuclear subs are on par with America.

US will sell you the hardware but do you think America will ever let any Arab state be on par with Israel? In the long term that's the biggest threat. Sure Russian hardware is not as good but that gives ME countries leverage to gain transfer of technology and possibly build their own industries.

It's great you brought up the Pakistan example. Pakistan was thinking the same as you but then the US denied F-16 deliveries - just like it back-pedaled on UAE F-35. Since then Pakistan (with China) developed home grown industry to build JF-17 which was used to blow up targets in Iran. Pakistan also purchased j-10 from China and is looking to acquire stealth aircraft from them. With this they are able to keep their enemies in check. From this the Arab countries could learn a few things about becoming independent of the Western hardware. It will suit them when the time comes to face yahuds on their soil and we know who USA and Europeans will side with.

Arabs are doing both..they are truly diversifying their weapons' sources..

Most Europeans come second after the US tech-wise and with almost the same tech.. so buying from them with Tot is no mistake..

My impression is that Chinese or Russians are behind the US, not Europe. Europe still has no F-35 equivalent they can't make a 5th gen fighter on their own without American help while China can...
