You were the one who said it was a done deal, not me.

Also, the PAF chief said nothing about the type of J-35 PAF would induct, he just said it would be inducted, and he used the FC-31 moniker, which means we're all even less sure of the type.

via your challenge of misinformation, you yourself are spreading misinformation. Consider the topic of export version vs not closed, its a fruitless argument, you think you're right, others think otherwise, and those who actually know have ditched the forum. Just a few pages ago there was actual decent discussion.

Except his point ended up proving me right. Pakistanndoes not get the Chinese version that so many people say. The Chinese automatically remove top secret tech, which is an automatic downgrade.

Bro, there is not really a downgraded version in the sense that some systems are entirely removed and different systems are installed in the export version. Because many of these systems are so complex that is like human eye. You can't have 80% or 90% of its hardware to make it function for its role. You need 100% of it. And developing less capable alternative solutions would cost extra time and money. Even if it leverages lots of already mature technologies from the original program.

So instead, given today 5th gen platforms are fully digitized and in the end of the day performance of every hardware is Ultimately defined by its software, from mission computer to aesa radar, ew system, EOTS what's not, this is were they usually put restrictions on performance perimeters for export versions.

For example, F35 procured by US allies has the very same engine, Radar, EW, EOT, integrated central processor, fusion engine, etc. However, software is different for domestic model. USAF once wanted to buy 8 F35 meant for Türkiye without changing any major hardware with software and some minor hardware modifications.
