Interesting perspective. But what was the calculus if Pakistan, i.e. a nuclear state, responded? Besides, all this really shows is that the Iranian leadership may be suicidal rather than anything else.

I feel Iran will have to respond to this attack. They are in same boat as Pakistan was few days back.

Iran initiated it to play her stupid game of messaging plus to show their public that they have taken revenge of terrorist attack on their Hero generals anniversary. But IRGC did miscalculation by including Pakistan in menu thinking that as country is in political crises so they will get away with it. Anyway as they have announced that non-Iranian were killed and there's no other causality so there's no point in escalation.

Well, don't be fooled by IIRGC. Terrorism is NEVER ended by 1 missile strike. Whatever group you targeted only vowed to strike Iran even harder next time. Terrorism NEVER ends with air-strikes or missile strikes. It only complicate the situation. You need to learn geo-politics, Iranian state knows exactly that it was not eliminating terrorism by just one strike. Iran was only trying to create a false impression or an illusion to the world that its a regional power and can bully just anyone. Iran thought it keeps pounding Syria and Iraq several times and now its time to show its strength by hitting a nuclear armed country. Iran miscalculated, it's biggest mistake was to not count Pakistan's airforce in the equation. With a far more stronger airforce, Pakistan can operate with impunity over Iranian airspace and Iran's illusion of being a regional power will erode in no time.

I would agree with that. In particular, Iran seems to think they must show their stooges in. Yemen and Lebanon that they too mean business, but without angering a party that wont leave it at a tit for tat. And with Pakistan being a nuclear power, it is clear to me that Iran would not intend to go beyond tit for tat on a small level. I dont expect another response by Iran to Pakistan's retaliation, but could be wrong.

Now its all about internal consumption, i am sure there are viciously patriotic Iranians who felt the same burning now. which i did for last two days and one night.

I have seen the footage when (Brigadier general Amir-Ali Hajizadeh) proundly and arrogantly ordering strikes and number of missiles to be launched.

Now where is Hajizadeh? now give answers to your own pupils. are you going to do it again?

sometimes this miscalculation leads to downfall. honestly the mess that has been created he should be fired on spot by Ayatullah Khamnai not only he launched strikes at Pakistan but due to fact because of retaliation from Pakistan it has opened the gates. let me remind you Iran sovereign territory was bombed in Operation with Intent.
