Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

The Turks don't give a shit. The Turks feel they have been backstabbed by the Arabs anyway. They only care about their own interests now. The Turks would sacrifice a hundred Syria's if they had to.

You do have to give a s*it when you have no natural resources and are in 500 billion US dollar external debt, which is mainly Anglo-Jewish.

Also Turkey is severely vulnerable to western sanctions.

I agree with most members. Turkey is in for a rude awakening. It won't get much out of it. The Americans and Israelis are really in charge here.

Although Turkey would be more than satisfied if PKK doesn't get any foothold in the border region like before. That would be a victory for Turkey.

Other than that, it remains to be seen whether Syria really enjoys peace and stability. The new rebel friend of the Western powers will be eliminated once he decides to go off script. His role is defined. Just follow the script.

I don't think Bashar himself was selling that. And the nonsense I heard on TV today by a reporter "The soldiers are given these and are fearless in battle" etc.

The SAA retreating all the time the last many years is proof they weren't taking any. You can lol here Mr.Osman.

Oh no he was definitely selling that, or more specifically his Brother Maher Al Assad was selling it.

When the Oil revenue dried up b/c the US was occupying the Oil fields, they needed revenue from somewhere. The Captagon sales generated around $5 Billion Annually. It was flooded into Jordan, Lebanon and the Saudis were the biggest buyers. Captagon was everywhere in every night club in Dubai.

Turkey’s growing influence in Syria, including its proximity to Israel’s borders, positions it as a replacement for the "Axis of Resistance." Confronting Turkey at its borders is becoming essential for Israel’s survival.
Doing nothing risks Turkey solidifying control over Syria, eventually bringing its army to Israel’s borders. It will be an interesting clash between the two sides. Lol

Israel approves plan aiming to double annexed Golan population

The Israeli government on Sunday approved a plan to double the population of the occupied and annexed Golan Heights, following the fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the prime minister’s office said.

The government had “unanimously approved” the 40 million shekel ($11 million) “plan for the demographic development of the Golan … in light of the war and the new front in Syria and the desire to double the population”, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said.

Israel has occupied most of the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau, since 1967 and annexed that area in 1981 in a move recognised only by the United States.

Netanyahu said, “The strengthening of the Golan is that of the State of Israel and it is particularly important at this time. We will continue to establish ourselves there, develop it and settle there”.

The occupied Golan Heights are home to about 23,000 Druze Arabs, whose presence predates the occupation and most of whom retain Syrian citizenship, as well as around 30,000 Israelis.

Last week, Netanyahu declared that the annexed Golan would be Israeli “for eternity”. That followed an order he gave for troops to cross into a UN-patrolled buffer zone separating Israeli and Syrian forces since 1974. Troops also seized areas beyond the buffer, including on Mount Hermon.

Israel portrayed the move, which drew international condemnation, as a temporary and defensive measure after what Netanyahu’s office called a “vacuum on Israel’s border and in the buffer zone”, following Assad’s fall.

In the aftermath of Assad’s overthrow, Israel also launched hundreds of strikes on Syria — according to a war monitor — targeting strategic military sites and weapons, including chemical weapons.

On Sunday, the Israeli premier said his country had “no interest in confronting Syria. Israel’s policy toward Syria will be determined by the evolving reality on the ground”.

In a video statement following a phone call with US President-elect Donald Trump, Netanyahu said Syria had attacked Israel in the past and allowed others including Lebanese Hezbollah to do so from its territory.

“To ensure that what happened in the past does not happen again, we have taken a series of intensive actions in recent days,” he said. “Within a few days, we destroyed capabilities that the Assad regime had built over decades.”

Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, the head of the rebels who toppled Assad who now goes by his real name, Ahmed al-Sharaa, on Saturday accused Israel of “a new unjustified escalation in the region” by entering the buffer zone.

However, he said, “The general exhaustion in Syria after years of war and conflict does not allow us to enter new conflicts”.

Washington in 2019 became the first and so far only country to recognise Israeli sovereignty over the Golan, during Trump’s first term.

“Israel was displeased with the space Bashar had granted to the Iranians. Even after the rebel operation began, the Americans conveyed to us that Israel does not want Bashar to go, even until last day.”

Fidan further disclosed that during a 2016 visit to Turkey, then-US Vice President Joe Biden had informed Ankara that Washington opposed toppling Assad.

“He told us that the US doesn’t want Bashar to go,” Fidan said. “We understood that this wasn’t truly his own stance but rather Israel’s position.”

Hakan Fidan told Turkish media that Blinken told him the US didn't want Assad removed and warned him about the Offensive after the Rebels took Aleppo.

This also corroborates with bills in the US congress being pushed by the white house and Brett Mcgurk to have sanctions removed on Assad, before the Rebel offensive.

Also corresponds with the UAE facilitating the deal where Assad would give up Iran and Hezbollah in exchange for Sanctions relief and Investment from the GCC.

Also corresponds with Assad opening the Saudi Embassy in Damascus and kicking the Houthi diplomatic mission out of Syria a few months back.

There is smoke here, but ppl wanna bury their heads about Assad Chan.

Assad Def a Rat and Snake. lol

Why? Because yahood thought it was better to have a secular leader with a stable regime, than Iranians going here and there, gaining influence or salafi barbarians used by Turkey?

It makes more sense.

He probably knew it all too well, but what can you do? Such countries always had corruption. The irony is that similar things happen in our "free" western countries as well with friends and family of ruling politicians getting the best projects, funds and share of the wealth...

Where is the outcry from Syria?

Do they think Israel is going to willingly give up those lands if they keep their eyes closed and act like nothing is happening?

I never thought in a million years that Israel can just go into Syria and take land without a single bullet fired against it. I know Syria is not ready or capable of war with Israel now but this is just a violation.

I hope there is a plan in place to get those territories back and not just conceding to Israeli colonial expansion.
This is the consequence of the ancient law of unintended consequences. Wars tend to leave these byproducts. No one imagined on October 7th that in a year, Syria will end up as Israel's satellite. Now we see that without a drop of blood spilled.

These Syrians going to make PDF members upset:ROFLMAO:

Syrians are being taken for a ride. LOL An Al-Qaeda member is now a hero rebel fighter who gets monetary aid and phone calls from the Brits and Americans. Come on. This is like a bad Hollywood movie.

Israel just rolled in and took some more territory without any fuss. Who the heck just walks into another country and steals some land in broad daylight without any opposition? This was obviously staged and the Syrian dude is on American/British payroll.

Let's be real here. Not accepting foreign involvement isn't an option. The Mujahideen groups there don't have the capacity on their own to prevent other groups from accepting foreign help.

What's necessary is to smartly balance the foreign involvement they accept so they aren't beholden to any group. And it's going to be hard but they need assistance and expertise the trick is to make sure they aren't being used too much.
