Most agree that it now makes both sides even, and will make Iran more wary of launching attacks on Pakistani soil. Thus this is actually going to lead to de-escalation.

One interesting thing to note is that this was the first direct strike on Iran by a foreign power since the time of Saddam Hussein.

On a side note, I may have been skeptical, but I'm glad I was wrong. I'm glad that I gave them a chance because now it feels like Pakistan at least has some semblance of sovereignty.

Personally I think it's a important event to world security.

But mainstream massmedia here dont think the same.

Too many variables on military, political and strategic front.

Military- we have seen capabilities of both forces.
If PAF can do such a strike inside Iran, imagine what USAF, USN or Israeli AF can do inside Iran having 100 times more capabilities than PAF.

Political - How Indian aligns with Iran and how USA or KSA (and UAE) might support Pakistan. USA has condemned the attack by Iran on Pakistan already where as China the neutral gambler wants to mediate between Iran and Pakistan as the conflict lies in its own region. Why doesnt China go all out against Iran in favour of Pakistan ?

Strategic - BLF/BLA may get full-on support from Iranian and Indian channels since the armed conflict has been tit-4-tat, so the edge lies in insurgency to send the message to Pakistan.

China gets a helluva a lot of oil from Iran, it doesn't want to be stuck between a rock and a hard place

You have the right of it, China as always plays it safe. Regarding BLF, I do believe our eastern neighbour will exploit this. How or what limited shape that takes place is yet to be seen.

Will they repeat the same old tired tricks from 2005 and blow up some pipelines or go further?

The fact that the United States appears to be 'satisfied' with Pakistan's nuclear security should raise concerns for any ordinary Pakistani. This satisfaction should not be taken as a sign of goodwill from the US, as they are not our well-wishers. The truth is, we do not know how compromised our nuclear assets are, and it is uncertain whether we have significantly improved our nuclear capabilities given the historical incompetence GHQ has displayed over the years.

A lot. Iranians won't do anything directly but start supporting BLA.

We'll probably see more attacks in Pakistan by BLA in the name of retaliation

Pakistan should be prepared for any implications of this.
This is a good opportunity to crack down on Iranian proxies in Pakistan who recruit Pakistanis to fight in foreign wars.
Avoiding sectarianism is a must and every Pakistani is equal. But enemies shouldn’t try their luck. If we have one group who is loyal to one country, we also have a much stronger group which holds religious inspirations from Saudi. Proxy war and sectarianism (I’m strongly against sectarianism) might be very big in the near future, so Pakistan should be prepared for EVERY possibility including leveraging anything to fulfill its interests.
