Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai clarified that the civil disobedience movement initiated by the party remains active, pending a decision from former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Express News reported.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Yousafzai stated, “The civil disobedience call has not been withdrawn. A final decision will depend on the seriousness of the government’s committee.”

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accused former prime minister Imran Khan of being a “product of the establishment” and claimed he is now seeking power with the support of the United States, Express News reported.
“Imran Khan wants to return to power riding on America’s shoulders,” Asif said during a press conference in London. He warned, “If any foreign hand attempts to support PTI, Pakistan will defend itself.”
Asif highlighted the severity of the May 9 attacks on sensitive installations, describing the incidents as premeditated and meticulously planned. “The crowd was trained, and strategic locations, including defence installations, were targeted,” he said.
He praised the convictions handed down by military courts to those involved in the riots, calling them a “milestone” for Pakistan. “The faces of those who were sentenced are now visible, and more verdicts will follow,” he added.

General Bajwa was involved in this plan.” He accused Khan and his associates of corruption during his government, saying, “Billions of rupees were siphoned off, involving Imran Khan, his family, and his inner circle.”
The defence minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty. “If Imran Khan had been in power during the nuclear tests, he would have pocketed $5 billion and sold out the country,” he alleged.
Asif announced his intention to release a white paper detailing allegations of corruption against Khan, including cases related to the Shaukat Khanum hospital. “I will present these issues on the Assembly floor and in press conferences,” he concluded.

PM admires NA speaker's role in formation of committee, expresses hope national security, interest will be prioritised in talks
ISLAMABAD: In a significant political development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday constituted a high-level committee comprising senior members of the coalition government to hold dialogue with the main opposition party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which has warned the incumbent rulers of civil disobedience.
The committee includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Abdul Aleem Khan and Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
A committee — comprising leaders from PTI — to engage with the government, had already been formed by the PTI founder Imran Khan weeks ago, which reflects the party's realisation that the policy of confrontation could not be continued indefinitely.
The prime minister, on the other hand, formed the negotiating body on recommendation of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
Admiring Sadiq for his efforts in this regard, the prime minister expressed the hope that the national security and interest would be prioritised during the course of prospected negotiations.
"Our existence hinges on Pakistan’s existence,” PM Shehbaz said.
The development comes less than a day after the NA speaker confirmed reaching out to the premier for the formation of the dialogue committee, after assuring PTI of playing a role in mediation, which accused the government of not being serious about negotiations.
“I accept Barrister Gohar Khan’s proposal to form a negotiation committee,” he said.
After the formation of the committees, the NA speaker formally invited both sides and summoned the first session at his chamber tomorrow (Monday) at 11am.
Sadiq said that he invited the government and the opposition in good faith as "dialogue is the only way" to move forward.
He added that the PTI chairman acknowledged his role as the custodian of the house.
Sadiq said that PTI chairman had acknowledged the speaker’s role as the custodian of the house.
According to the sources, parliamentary committee will be entrusted with full authority to deliberate on key negotiation points and make decisions regarding government-opposition discussions.
The development took place amid looming civil disobedience movement by PTI, which says it will launch the first phase of the campaign today (Sunday) if their demands are not met.
Gohar, while speaking to media outside a court in Islamabad on Saturday, said that "negotiations will take place as they are the only solution".
He, however, said that the civil disobedience movement will also be implemented.
It may be noted that the government maintains that talks cannot proceed under the threat of civil disobedience or deadlines.
