Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

I am yet to hear genuine lamentations from any band of ordinary Syrians, residing locally or outside, over the ignominious fall of Assad dynasty. Where are the cries of those shouting "Oh, how I miss all those beautiful dungeons, the sparkling torture chambers".
Well maybe we don't hang around the same people, even online.

Meanwhile, you think it was all Dungeons&Dragons....so typical.

By the way,out of curiosity, what's your background?

You can always put up a video link. Not hard to locate one nowadays if it exists.

I am just an ordinary (tax paying) American with no particular preference to either side. Neither Assad nor Jolani is my idea of a good leader. Till someone digs up some evidence where Jolani led to a few hundred thousand deaths, I would consider him lesser evil. If someone labels him lesser devil, it doesn't hurt my feelings. I am mature enough to know that land won't sprout a Thomas Jefferson or Mahatma Gandhi.

RIYADH: A Saudi delegation has met Syria’s new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus, a source close to the government told AFP on Monday.

The delegation joins a list of visitors to the Syrian capital since the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group, led by Sharaa, spearheaded the toppling of president Bashar al-Assad on December 8.

The “Saudi senior delegation met Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus yesterday discussing (the) Syria situation and captagon”, the source said, referring to the illegal synthentic stimulant that has flooded the region from Syria.

Saudi Arabia severed ties with Assad’s government in 2012 and backed Syrian rebels seeking to overthrow him early in the country’s civil war.

BEIRUT (Reuters): Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Monday Lebanon will cooperate with an Interpol request to arrest former Syrian intelligence officer Jamil Hassan, accused by US authorities of war crimes under the toppled al-Assad government.

Last week, Lebanon received an official notice from Interpol urging judicial and security authorities to detain Hassan, whose whereabouts remain unclear, if he is found on Lebanese soil, three Lebanese judicial sources told Reuters.

“We are committed to cooperating with the Interpol letter regarding the arrest of the Director of Syrian Air Force Intelligence, as we continue to cooperate on all matters related to the international system,” Mikati told Reuters.

The directive also called for Hassan’s arrest if he enters Lebanon, with the ultimate aim of extraditing him to the United States, the sources said.

Yes,but what's the deal with you. Are you what they call a "white" American? Or some other ethnicity? Atheist? What's the deal? Just trying to figure out where you're coming from.

Israel - US - Turkey - AQ/ISIS, all partners, same thing, one can take credit of the actions of the other, specially in the case of Syria.

Blind sectarian haters of shia/Iran will still keep denying!

Peace loving generic American, very unhappy with U.S. interventionist policies, haven't liked any war after 1945 (but not in love with Trump) with an artificial Christmas tree.
