Operation Ghazab Lil Haq (Pakistan - Afghanistan War)

what is happening on the Afghan - Pakistan border bro?

lots of conflicting reports on twitter. Afghans claim they killed 17 Pakistani soldiers, Pakistanis claim only 1 was martyred (RIP). hard to see through the fog of war and misinformation.

Bro ex ANA troops who have now grown out their beards and become part of the Taliban are causing havoc on the border.
That being said you also have nationalist Pashtun elements among the Taliban who are sympathetic to them and more importantly to terrorist groups in Pakistan like the Pakistani Taliban. They have been given refuge in Afghanistan to launch attacks in Pakistan.
This has led to border skirmishes.

so the clashes are with Pakistani Taliban terrorists based in Afghanistan, rather than the Afghan Taliban itself?

Twitter was making it sound like Pakistan and Afghanistan are at war. I didn't take it seriously because pages seemed suspicious, but apparently something is going on.

Can anyone explain? Is there actually a war/invasion from either side?

Not war they had like 2 hours of border skirmishes in an engagement it was a reply to Pakistan´s strikes a day earlier. By the way it was between IEA nad Pakistan border security but not a war as both Kabul and Islamabad aren´t interested in full blown war

Fundamentally TTP is based in Afghanistan and Taliban allows the TTP to create bases and training areas, to recruit and prepare and then they launch terrorist attacks inside Pakistan

Pakistan has repeatedly asked Afghanistan to get hold of the situation, but they CHOOSH to support the TTP because of ethnic kinship

Most TTP attacks are small, but occasionally they launch a big attack and about 2 weeks ago they launched a big attack on a Pakistani fort/base on the border killing Pakistani soldiers

Pakistan getting angry about the situation for umpteenth time, launches air strikes on TTp bases and areas in Afghanistan killing a number of high value targets and TTP fighters

Taliban know TtP are present
They know they attack Pakistan and commit terrorism
Taliban refuse to remove TTP, but also don't want Pakistan removing or attacking them

Now it's the aftermath, Taliban don't have much options
So their is alot.of bravado and propaganda but the Taliban don't have much options on attacking Pakistan without Pakistan absolutely smashing Afghanistan in the mouth

Yes for the most part, but elements within the Taliban as mentioned above are now providing fire support.
Taliban have a lot of US equipment and are certainly battle hardened. But the Pakistani military is no joke and has a lot of very competent elements. The Taliban would likely not fare well in such a battle beyond an escalation of aimless terror attacks.

Hope the situation remains calm and can be resolved peacefully.

That is incorrect TTP aren´t involved in this at all.. They are ghost elements that slip in and out and only Pakistan seems to spot them.

IEA has no interest in the existence of TTP. Pakistan is just looking for scapegoat. The Pakistani security are in truth dog-shxt just don´t know how to create a secure environment not even for construction projects look at Afghanistan in return or even Iran.. Afghanistan has the best security in the region now despite 50 years of war we should learn from that..

To many india insiders in Pakistan like raw

Pakistan has alot going for them it but the IEA are better trained, battle hardened, more motivated and displined compared to low paid Pakistani soldiers who has never seen a bullet fired at him in his entire life. I swear bro they can get ANA´ed out of nowhere if they were to push their luck but the only saving grace is that Kabul wants to perserve status-quo and regional balance

We also have jets, tanks and missiles and can scorch Afghanistan into the ground

Jets will not safe you in this terrain nor win you anything forget it man besides IEA has drones and will target all airports as well. They aren´t old Taliban. They use drones alot which is a game changer for them. Pakistan is mountainous country as well and the IEA are better at navigating mountainous terrains.

Tanks are just a burial place for 3 men nothing and Missiles don´t win wars but conventional forces do. You gotta take it from the IEA on the ground from mountain to mountain top and from valley to valley.

Not really, Afghanistan only has a few cities, bases and anything of values

If Pakistan closes the border and trade, that alone will cause immeasurable damage to Afghanistan

Pakistan has one of the strongest militaries in the world
A massive army
A large airforce
A large drone force
An array of missiles and offensive options

It wouldn't even be close, any Afghan concentration of forces would be decimated

Afghans need to stop being stupid and control the TTP

non of that matters low paid soldiers with no moral won´t do anything. you have no realistic look on wars.. it aint fairytale..

besides cities like karachi can fall from within without fight and 50 million can turn inside pakistan.. Pakistan should tighten it´s security and go after raw and get out of IEA hairs before it is too late or otherwise it will soon be enough is enough..

If you wanna play stupid try you luck here

TTP have been around a lot longer before this happened, so now they are chancing it.
I do agree with the whole Pakistani security stuff being a mess.
I don't like this happening i.e. fighting between the two.

Stop smoking that bong

Pakistan needs some sort of Agreement with Afghanistan for the disarmament of the Pakistani Taliban and regular joint patrols inside of Afghan border areas.

Similar to the scheme that was present with the Russians and Turkey inside the Syrian border areas. Where joint Turkish Russian partols inside of Syria on the border were taking place to keep track of any PKK infrastructure not being created for infiltration.

Its the only way this is going to stop, The Afghan Talibs will not hand over Pakistani Talibs, it will hurt their street cred and amongst their rank and file. And its not practical for Pakistan to launch full ground incursions or go to war with the Govt in Kabul.

There needs to be some sort of middle ground, as well as Pakistan on its end completely securing its border with a full secured concrete fence and a barrier no man's land created inside Pakistan on its border.
