Just one ft-7 @QuwaAir Force to get 8 Bell helicopters from the USA & trainer aircraft from Pakistan https://www.dailymirror.lk/breaking...USA-trainer-aircraft-from-Pakistan/108-299279

I was thinking- we will retire 50 or so block 1’s, could be good for cheap exports to mig 21 operators. We could even get them to pay for upgrades like the Americans do with retired gearYes Gratis actually. Setting the stage for JF-17 perhaps![]()

Found a recent video, and just in case the numbers weren’t shared somewhere else, in the following video, this Indian officer shares the current orders on the books/expected.
A FYI for us to think about as we plan against their planned ORBAT.
Number of planned squadrons to procure:
3 LCA mk 1
4 LCA mk 1A
4 LCA mk 2
6 AMCA

Oh this is the modest version of what they and a retired Indian Air Force chief mentioned, referencing the 60’s era TATA report about having 65 (60-70) squadrons and a recent mention by the ex chief of the IAF for 20-25 of those squadrons to be UCAVs.If we ever had to plan for their "planed" Orbat we would have to be the size of USAF.
10 years ago this was also due to be their planned Orbat (without AMCA), and they are left with just 1.5 MK1 Sqds that are not even all FOC.
Right now even if they have all of the above it may take at least another 15 years (by their own admission) to gain all the above, possibly another 20 years if you include the AMCA.
Obviously the downfall of all the amazing planning if conveniantly forgetting the PAF also plans and modernises......

But you’re right about the PAF planning as well. With the interoperability with the PLAAF, in a war time situation, it would be much easier for the PLAAF to paint their UCAVs in the PAF colors and send them to Pakistan to support their ally, flying UCAVs out of PAF bases (via satellite control from China), and overwhelming IAF plans. Good experience for the PLAAF and good backup for the PAF.
Furthermore, if the following Turkish source is accurate, the PAF will also have interoperability across nearly the entire fleet in terms of engines. This is one of the interesting (and frustrating!) points, is that while every Tom, Dick and Rajoot in the Indian media, IAF and MoD go one about new plans, new aircraft, new strategies, we hear very very little from PAF until they actually release some badly made video or have an induction ceremony.
I would not be surprised at all if what you said is within PAF plans.
If J-10C, J-35, Erieye, SOJ etc are all in service or have already been planned in, it would be fascinating to see PAF's plans after these things.
For sure I do not think China would exclude Pakistan from 6th gen tech in the future, also a great benefit of having J-10Cs/J-35s in service is emergency resupply in war can be very easy (and a very short flight over the Himalyas) and indeed, IAF will not even be able to tell if they are fighting against Chinese aircraft/pilots or Pakistanis....

I certainly doubt it’s going here - currently the focus is all internal securityJust hoping...
Embraer announced an undisclosed country bought 2 C-390s. The C-390 could be a solid replacement to the IL-78 in the AAR role.

The PAF could aim to have the KAAN match the performance of the planned upgraded F-22. From the work on the KAAN and the experience from the J-35 over the next 3-5 years, it will reveal more data to help the P-FX decide if it should opt for the WS-19 or WS-10G.
An initial force of even 18-24 KAAN with modernized F-22 capabilities including a 300 km range ducted ramjet GoKhan missile will make the PAF air to air capabilities very capable. Should the PAF make a deal with the Turks and the Qataris, in the event of conflict, both of those nations could spare some KAAN fighters to further add to numbers.
Finally, if the PAF plans to go for 90-100 J-10s, with the availability of the 155 kn (I hope increase to 156 kn to match the F-119) WS-10G, the PAF should seek the development of the “J-10D” into a “Growler” platform. To escort other 4th gen fighters in the face of India’s improving IADS and EW assets. Even 1 squadron of 18, spread out to 3 air bases couldn’t be enough to maintain tactical control when facing larger numbers, in the riskiest of situations.
