Biggest blunder committed. Since the 1990s (recent history) PPP, Pmln were propagated as traitors, corrupt and incompetence, governments were removed, leaders exiled and post 2021 they want the awaam to accept them as patriotic Pakistanis and saviours. Not sure who is the mastermind behind this, the great mind of Pakistan. Slowly the narrative is being lost, and its heartbreaking since Pakistan will be harmed in this process. The establishment needs to understand its not their job to come on tv and make statements like this, the representatives of the people are needed and they need to work extra hard at grassroot level to counter anti state propaganda, to counter extremism, radicalism, separatism etc. Creating more provinces will fix some issues but the budget which is eaten by current big mafias will be eaten at local level by local mafias in each constituency. In Pakistan the MNAs get the budget, after everyone takes their cut money is given to local contractors and they eat the rest of the pie so only fraction is actually used on the project. How can we fix this issue when everyone wants to fill their own pockets.

A normal citizens doesnt know much about imports and exports, economy etc. The first thing he wants is job/career, health, education, justice. Everything in the above list except maybe health is controlled by the MNAs, they get you government jobs, they ring police, judges to help you (if they choose to do), they use the same system to make your life hell, a normal citizens cannot approach the police, judiciary for justice. Regarding economy, imports, exports etc a country like Pakistan will always struggle but yes the situation can be improved with better governance, we can import cheaper gas oil from Iran but then our brotherly master GCC nations will take our pants off, plus Yanks will do us over, I think its unfair to point fingers at Pakistan government for this, however rule of law, justice, security, accountability, education is the government's job. Just start with giving basic facilities and rights.

every couple of months we have the same discussion about new provinces, yes we need them, and no Pakistani's chutiya awam and leaders will not agree to make provinces because of their sheer incompetence, in a country where you can't build a dam that will benefit millions, some naive people dream about smaller states? and for those complaining how we can't name the alleged new provinces, really? The poverty you see on the ground in the last three years did not begin the day he left office; the bill for years of denial, borrowed time, and populist accounting came due.

Blaming only the post-2022 period is convenient storytelling.

Musharraf’s early popularity for hitting the dynasties lasted until the NRO. It does not turn every later general into a villain and every anti-dynasty experiment into sacred history. The institution went back to its old habits because that is what the institution does when its interests are threatened. Whether under Musharraf, under the ones who backed Khan, and under the ones who dropped him. That is continuity, not a unique betrayal of a unique savior.

“Everything out of control” and “I am on the ground” do not make the rest of the claim true. Treating one man as the sole rupture in a broken system, and every reverse as proof the system could not handle his light, is how cults talk.

Dynasties failed.
Generals failed.
The project that sold itself as the clean break failed too.
Holding only two of those three accountable is not insight.

Agree with you that, while in an ideal situation, smaller provinces are a good idea, under the current dispensation, they will just mean more patronage, more graft, more sinecure jobs and more waste. And I would point out that the common people of AJK are the biggest victims of the corruption and waste there.

Calling AJK a "small administrative unit" simply because it has 4.5 million people is absurd.... By this logic, one DC should be enough for all of Balochistan since its population is roughly the same as Lahore's.....

Second, this assumes AJK's institutions were ever free to govern..... They never were.....they have always functioned under Islamabad's shadow......... That's precisely the problem people want fixed...... The issue isn't that AJK is too small (or big for that matter) it's that it has never been allowed to govern itself meaningfully..... What do you mean by "govern itself". They have PM, supreme court, Rs300bn budget for 4m people. Thats double per capita budget then Punjab. So tell me dear what do you mean by govern itself.
