Naqvi urges 'all political parties' to settle issue of more provinces, says current 'system' has collapsed

General losing the grip and thing getting out of control. Now they are trying to disassociate themselves from elite ruling mafia...... those came in power by the blessing of form 47 and our generals.

The truth is, Pakistan’s power players don’t have many options left and deep down, they know it. They keep doing the same things over and over again, hoping that somehow the outcome will magically change. They rotate faces, shuffle parties, and call it “reform.” It’s not reform. It’s panic dressed as strategy.

They genuinely believe that if they just change the packaging, new province, new system, new slogan, the economy will fix itself. It won’t. Even a presidential system won’t fix anything on its own. These are surface‑level adjustments to a problem that sits deep in the foundation.

Right now, the entire political and institutional elite operate with two or three policy buckets and every single bucket is full of holes. Instead of repairing the holes, they keep throwing the bucket away and picking up a new one, expecting the water to stay inside this time. It never does.

And let’s be honest about the biggest hole of all….
Provincial government.
It is the deepest cut in the system, and Pakistan has been bleeding from it for more than 70 years. Oversized provinces, bloated bureaucracies, and centralized provincial control have suffocated local governance and blocked real economic reform. This wound has never been treated only bandaged.

So here’s my challenge to the establishment and the entire political class:
Fix Pakistan’s economy without deep structural reforms.
Try it.
If you succeed, you’ll buy yourself another five years.
But you won’t.
You can’t.

And when 2030 arrives, we’ll still be sitting here having the same conversations, repeating the same frustrations, watching the same cycle play out again.

The solution isn’t complicated. It isn’t ideological. It isn’t tied to any personality.
Pakistan needs deep structural reforms and then 15 years of uninterrupted stability for those reforms to settle.
Only then will you see real growth, real productivity, real sovereignty.

And PTI supporters need to hear this too, Imran Khan doesn’t have a magic wand. No leader does. Pakistan could hire the top seven economists in the world, and even they would tell you the same thing, no one can fix Pakistan’s economy in five years. Not with the current structure. Not with the current incentives. Not with the current governance model.

Fixing the economy isn’t about speeches, slogans, or personalities.
It’s a 15 year engineering project that demands discipline, continuity, and structural redesign.

Biggest blunder committed. Since the 1990s (recent history) PPP, Pmln were propagated as traitors, corrupt and incompetence, governments were removed, leaders exiled and post 2021 they want the awaam to accept them as patriotic Pakistanis and saviours. Not sure who is the mastermind behind this, the great mind of Pakistan. Slowly the narrative is being lost, and its heartbreaking since Pakistan will be harmed in this process. The establishment needs to understand its not their job to come on tv and make statements like this, the representatives of the people are needed and they need to work extra hard at grassroot level to counter anti state propaganda, to counter extremism, radicalism, separatism etc. Creating more provinces will fix some issues but the budget which is eaten by current big mafias will be eaten at local level by local mafias in each constituency. In Pakistan the MNAs get the budget, after everyone takes their cut money is given to local contractors and they eat the rest of the pie so only fraction is actually used on the project. How can we fix this issue when everyone wants to fill their own pockets.
Agreed, they fail to understand , a country can t live for long without massive exports, a judicial system and respect of public mandate.

A normal citizens doesnt know much about imports and exports, economy etc. The first thing he wants is job/career, health, education, justice. Everything in the above list except maybe health is controlled by the MNAs, they get you government jobs, they ring police, judges to help you (if they choose to do), they use the same system to make your life hell, a normal citizens cannot approach the police, judiciary for justice. Regarding economy, imports, exports etc a country like Pakistan will always struggle but yes the situation can be improved with better governance, we can import cheaper gas oil from Iran but then our brotherly master GCC nations will take our pants off, plus Yanks will do us over, I think its unfair to point fingers at Pakistan government for this, however rule of law, justice, security, accountability, education is the government's job. Just start with giving basic facilities and rights.

your post shows, you are naive and too straight forward and honest person.

every couple of months we have the same discussion about new provinces, yes we need them, and no Pakistani's chutiya awam and leaders will not agree to make provinces because of their sheer incompetence, in a country where you can't build a dam that will benefit millions, some naive people dream about smaller states? and for those complaining how we can't name the alleged new provinces, really? In a country where if you call a Achakzai a Orakzai they will blast 5 Govt offices, 10 school and 50 bridges, imagine if we name a province which people doesn't approve off then what will they do?

To generate jobs, provide health and education you need money, There is two way, either trade opportunities or export skilled labor. We have NON. Nothing can move in the country without public chosen people in the parliament. But, selective democracy.. Trade policy and opportunity govern by govt,

Look I get the need for cultist worship but at least get the sequence right...

Imran Khan did not “break the status quo.” He governed inside it, leaned on the same generals who later removed him, and left the economy in freefall before anyone dragged him out. The poverty you see on the ground in the last three years did not begin the day he left office; the bill for years of denial, borrowed time, and populist accounting came due.

Blaming only the post-2022 period is convenient storytelling.

Musharraf’s early popularity for hitting the dynasties lasted until the NRO. It does not turn every later general into a villain and every anti-dynasty experiment into sacred history. The institution went back to its old habits because that is what the institution does when its interests are threatened. Whether under Musharraf, under the ones who backed Khan, and under the ones who dropped him. That is continuity, not a unique betrayal of a unique savior.

“Everything out of control” and “I am on the ground” do not make the rest of the claim true. Treating one man as the sole rupture in a broken system, and every reverse as proof the system could not handle his light, is how cults talk.

Dynasties failed.
Generals failed.
The project that sold itself as the clean break failed too.
Holding only two of those three accountable is not insight.
We have elephant in the house.

I agree and ofcourse we need that but even current Pakistan can be in a better place if judiciary, police and everyone else did their jobs, including elite education system.

AJK, a perfect exemple of what small units will do. Rs300bn budget for a population of 4.5m. 90% spent on non-dev expenditure. Good luck funding more smaller units.

Empower local governments.

Agree with you that, while in an ideal situation, smaller provinces are a good idea, under the current dispensation, they will just mean more patronage, more graft, more sinecure jobs and more waste. And I would point out that the common people of AJK are the biggest victims of the corruption and waste there.

Two flawed assumptions by Engine sb..

First, population alone doesn't determine administrative size.... Terrain, remoteness, and accessibility matter far more.....

You can drive across Gujranwala district in under half an hour.... Driving across AJK, from Taobat in Neelum to Bhimber via Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and Kotli takes between 16 to 18 hours... Calling AJK a "small administrative unit" simply because it has 4.5 million people is absurd.... By this logic, one DC should be enough for all of Balochistan since its population is roughly the same as Lahore's.....

Second, this assumes AJK's institutions were ever free to govern..... They never were.....they have always functioned under Islamabad's shadow......... That's precisely the problem people want fixed...... The issue isn't that AJK is too small (or big for that matter) it's that it has never been allowed to govern itself meaningfully..... And this holds true for all other administrative units of Pakistan too .. Size of administrative units won't matter as long as people aren't allowed to govern themselves

This is absolute sham. Release all political prisoners from prison and call a General election is what Pakistanis people want . Anything else is more or less crap.
