Comparing Safir to Qaem-100 is very ignorant

Safir was nothing more than a modified Shahab-3 and was launched back in 2009…15 years ago.

Qaem-100 is an extension of the Tehrani Moghdam project from 2010. Actually even earlier considering Tehrani worked on a much much more powerful version.

So like I said this tech is old tech that IRGC has had for some time.

2009: 50 kg to 120 km
A dumb 50 kg load with no advanced capabilities

2014: advanced 50 kg to 700 km

Overhyping the word “advanced capabilities”. Iran has yet to develop a satellite in the 30-50cm resolution. Everything is 3M (Russian) or higher.

There is only so much technology you can pack into a microsatellite that lacks unfoldable solar panels especially one in the 50kg class which is the weight of a passengers luggage.

Raafe engine is not "old tech" and there is no evidence to suggest it is related to Moghaddam's "Project Ghaem". We saw static test footage of Ghaem's engine from 2008-2010 and it had no relation to Raafe.

After 6 years of pdf I am sure you know the difference and achievements well but you wanted it to be faster.

Raafe is not a long term stage one tech solution, compare the thrust and diameter of these engines to what is being tested at Shahrud and you will realize it’s nothing in comparison to what iran is working. it’s at best a future 3rd stage booster, using it in the second stage is a temporary measure.

Iran’s BM program took a huge hit when Tehrani and nearly 30 other scientists were killed. Iran then focused on accuracy rather than range as Iran had to rebuild the leading missile teams from scratch.

2009 to 2024 still launching microsatellites to LEO. Still lacking sub 1 meter resolution. Still lacking unfoladable solar panel satellites the basic building blocks of building larger satellite outside of cube sats.

So yes the progress has been agonizing slow. One of the slowest space programs in modern times. And the reason is lack of goals and vision. We don’t know if we want to be a space force both civilian and economic goals or something akin to Israel which is mostly military intelligence launch capability.

Space launches per year (IRGC vs ISA):

2020: 1 (IRGC) vs 1 (ISA)
2021: 0 (IRGC) vs 2 (ISA)
2022: 2 (IRGC) vs 1 (ISA)
2023: 2 (IRGC) vs 0 (ISA)
2024: 1 (IRGC) vs 0 (ISA)

didn't we have a law that we must have at least two launches per year? last ISA launch was sub-orbital test launch of Zoljanah in June 2022, only 1 ISA launch in 2 years now.

Simorgh looks abandoned at this point (last launch attempt in 2021) and it's not clear if the civilian/ISA program is still alive. Can we still blame Rouhani for this? @Hack-Hook

so they have already (successfully) incorporated most of the new design features of Qaem-105 on Qaem-100. modularity of Qaem series design means swapping out Salman second stage for larger "Naafe" second stage = Qaem-105 (120kg to LEO, 200kg to LEO with optional fourth stage).

should be a quick process, hopefully we see the first Qaem-105 launch soon.

The last launch with bio capsule was Dec 6. 23. The latest with Sorayya is Jan. 20. Note increase in frequency although only a single data point.

ISA is it’s own mess. We lost 2 IRGC launch engineers recently during ISA launch preps so something is going on in that den of spies.

Simorgh is a failed design, it’s 2nd stage lacked enough power to gain acceleration for orbital insertion. Hence why Iran moved on from simorgh and built Sarir. Sarir is Simorgh with a modified more powerful 2nd stage.

Thus Sarir is Simorgh 2.0

a good solution , find the spies please

What brilliant solution. Who knew it was that easy.

You are talking about the world intelligence agencies of MI6/CIA plus Mossad. The same intelligence agencies that managed to infiltrate Hitler’s inner military circle and plant a briefcase bomb at an critical military intelligence meeting in Hitler’s version of Camp David. You are talking about a group that managed to have Soviet Union Generals among their spies.

Compare that to Iran whose intelligence agencies have existed for less than half century and is riddled with competing factions vying for power.

Add to the fact we have 3+ competing intelligence (Artesh Itnelligence, IRGC intelligence, and MOI) and its cluster**** of everyone accusing everyone of being a spy.

Competing intelligence is perfectly fine.
