This is exactly it. When we were getting F-6s on very generous terms (including complete factories) no one cared as world was full of F-4 Phantoms, Mirage 2000s, Viggens, MIG-29s etc

When we were getting F-7s on very generous terms no one cared as world was full of F-16s, Rafales, Gripens, and SU-30s.

Now if we are getting J-35. World is only full of F-35. Nothing else......

I don't think chinese engine is related to KAAN, both are different things. Pakistan will get KAAN with Turkish Engine.
Pakistan is getting both J35 and KAAN and there is no doubt in it. The thing which is not clear is timeline which is debatable.

Well, in that case Pakistan will have to find alternatives if this really is the plan. Although I want to hear this confirmation from Chinese officials and not the people. Unless the KAAN comes with a domestic Turkish engine at some point.

The KAAN won't be coming soon to Pakistan if China doesn't allow the integration of its engine. We will then have to wait for a domestic Turkish engine.

You guys are missing the point, the Chinese rightfully so will not allow their engine tech to be on a Turkish platform given the Pan-Turkish turkey has been trying to project into Central Asia and Xingjing. I wouldn’t give the Turks a single piece of my tech given how much part of nato are they and the damages they’ve created in the Middle East.

Yes KAAN will comes with Turkish Engine. Time is on PAF side. There is no hurry for KAAN. J35 is here for recent future needs. Pakistan is planning for local assembly line for KAAN. That's a really long term plan. I would say it could be 8-10 years easily.
