They are talking about huge number of Iranians inside Iran, up to 40% by some of their sources, that are waiting for chance to liberate themselves from, as they say, Persian oppression...if this numbers are realistic, no one from outside could fix this problem... If Iranians decide to ruin own country, then no other enemies are necessary... War in Nagorno is complex, but not directly related to Iranian internal situation...

the problem with these guys is that they don't understand minorities in Iran are not minority at all they are related with Persians and other minorities by marriage and other ties. there is very few pure Azeri or pure Kurd or pure Persian in Iran.
if those 40% want to free themselves from Persian they may find they had to free themselves from their cousins, nephews, nieces or probably their own mothers

The only remedy for separation tendencies is to have " nationalist" government ..I myself am half Azari and half Persian...If the Islamic Republic stays in power with the force of weapons and intimidation many people in my family will opt to be where there is no Islamic republic. Which means every one will choose and country will split or there will be civil war...mullahs never listened to what people want and did what mullahs want..dictatorship will always fall.

That has always been the beauty of Iran 🇮🇷 The people might make fun of this and that ethnicity but everyone is related and the vast majority of people are Iranian first before they're anything else. That's what outsiders fail to see and understand. They underestimate the civilizational and societal cohesion of Iran.

if we listen to everyone's claims we will think 40% of iranians are Turkish, 50% are afghan, 20% are Arab, 20% are kurdish and maybe 30% are persian

Anyone familiar with Iranian society and history would agree with your evaluation. However, what you seem to overlook is that change is inevitable. Just because a situation existed in the past does not guarantee it will persist in the future.

Human societies are intricate, fluid, and can transform rapidly at times.

There is no doubt for any unbiased observer that the Azeri population is increasingly distancing itself from the dominant Iranian identity of the 21st century.

Aryobarzan is a long time member dating back to the old forum.

Just because you disagree with their viewpoints doesn’t mean we need to ban people.

You are all not children and there is no man with a van tempting you with free candy and saying they know your mother. You can create rational thoughts and opinions.

This forum needs to remain a safe space for opposing views no matter how absurd they sound. Or else it’s a slippery slope into turning into one big echo chamber and a mini-North Korea on here
