You can't attack just one day, it take month if not years to move everything in place to get your troop, ships, aircraft, supply together so you can fight a war, that give time to start strategic reserve if they had not done so already, you are talking about 1 to 2 year of reserve easily being store just in 6 month, in the US, that number is 10 years for fuel. US had 1.5 billion barrel of oil for Stategic Petroleum reserve. And 3 to 5 years depends on soil fertilities for food. China also have their strategic reserve, you don't just go without food and oil when you were getting embargoed.

Second, the second "if" is "if" this is the case, they all support China when push come to shove, in reality, while it's hard to guess, but through history, you are talking about 10-15% of population support an insurgency in country like Afhganistan, Northern Ireland, aplying that, you have around 10% of those 11.2% would actually do something. That's a very small portion and that's before any government intervention.
I will say, if we compare the Ukrainian war with Russian Sympathiser to Chinese Sympathiser in Taiwan, Ukraine probably will face a tougher insurgency and discontent as there are a bigger portion of Ethnic Russian in Ukraine than Chinese friendly people in Taiwan. Whether or not that amount to anything is up to anyone guess, but it would have to be REALLY stupid to depends on these population to rise up and do something, in battle plan term, you discard these type of support, because that would be unrealiable.
