'Kicked him to the curb': How Elon Musk forced Vivek Ramaswamy out of DOGE

Yes that's true, that's a strong argument

But you must know you are not acknowledging the other side from those Americans who are disgruntled, some may not even be maga

You are stuck logically in a Gordian knot of how Americans and products of the full American education system have the brilliance and endeavour to create silicon valley, with the tech and developments in science and math they in large part created

Yet are told to be found lacking in occupying many of the subsequent jobs, not only that but then that those from a developing nation are much better, harder working , why are they obviously better

Tech is not it, people from all backgrounds want to work in tech, but if strong American university grads are complaining on not getting a break there will be issues, what of all those American tiger mums and dads who expect their kids to get into silicon valley, if you don't acknowledge these aspect then you are intentionally being tone deaf
I have worked for 5 years in Microsoft, 7 in Amazon and in several other places. Not once did we have to let a person not being hired if he fit the bill...

You know how hard it is to find the right talent?

The REQs or positions take 5-6 months to close. And growth is almost phenomenal. When one single project is sanctioned, it creates scores of positions.

Each week there is a meeting in which hiring is reviewed. If you can not hire as a manager, your own promotion is in jeopardy because you will not deliver product / feature on time and you will frustrate the current team members.

There is a reason why most tech companies have massive presence all over the world, where ever they can. They want to hire the people with abilities where ever they an find them and as quickly as they can.

Tell me otherwise, why microsoft does not shift entire development to India? It will be cheaper!

Because if they do it, the american developers are not moving to India and they can not find all the developers they need in India.

You will be surprised but tech talent is indeed very hard to come by.

There are lots of mediocre devs but getting good talent is indeed hard!

As a businessman or even as a manager, last thing you want is a stupid government telling you whom to hire and whom to not.

Political correctness stops people from pointing out the obvious. I am surprised to see even this much attention but this issue will be suppressed in time.

In the West, the media has made it so that the only people you can openly attack are Muslims, Catholics, and certain ethnicities and nationalities. All the anger that people have towards the economy or any woke issue, they channel that anger towards Muslim immigrants because the media has legitimized that outlet for their pent up anger.

It's strange, this has suddenly happened, but a few things have coalesced.....maga, an increasing body of disgruntled American tech workers, and viveks stupid comments plus Elon

The disgruntled it or tech workers have in fact always been there, they will I feel consistently pursue this, it's their livelihoods after all

They just never had the right political climate to be heard

If American grads and American Tiger mums also make noise...

I am a bit bored of this topic, but I can only comment on how reflexively disingenuous you are being here, and you are quite good at it

So now every H1b hire is indeed absolutely defensible relative to Americans and due process..... You have just doubled down, no one believes that😂

Then if talent is sparse why not more diversity in h1b countries over 3 decades, there is a clear monopoly

Have to rate the chutzpah, doesn't help you I think

@r3alist

all those American tiger mums and dads who expect their kids to get into silicon valley,

These "tiger mums and dads" must counsel their kids to accept lower wages and work longer hours. Their kids will be fine then.

Americans and products of the full American education system have the brilliance and endeavour to create silicon valley, with the tech and developments in science and math they in large part created. Yet are told to be found lacking in occupying many of the subsequent jobs, not only that but then that those from a developing nation are much better, harder working ,

The creators of the Silicon Valley didnt all come from the American education system. Besides, they were products of an earlier generation who had the work ethic. Maybe the current generation graduating don't have the same work ethic?

Regards

They don't get a chance to even accept lower wages

They don't get a chance

Netizens are demonstrating how the system is gamed to skip the American worker from applying, so h1b gets the job, it's quite sneaky, an ad is posted somewhere obscure, the box is ticked that an external was given a chance, invariably that's a dead end, then that allows the h1b to get the spot... something like that

@AjayGhatak is unwilling to accept whilst plenty of highly credible candidates the system has been abused at the cost of others

Trump is actually doing everyone else in Anglo-Saxon countries a big favour.

With his ban on Indian H1B scam, this will give more impetus to stop the mass importation of Indians into other countries like Canada, UK and Australia.

The backlash against Indians was already there but Trump/MAGA will strenghthen the "resistance" against the invasion.

Wrong.

If they operate in the US, they must comply with anti-discrimination laws. Firing people just for being white and replacing them with Indians violates the law. They get away with it because nobody dares complain due to political correctness.
There are courts to deal with it.
Public companies are beholden to their shareholders to squeeze maximum value for money. Hiring an unqualified Indian over a qualified non-Indian is not in the shareholders' interest.
If the company is delivering 20% YoY growth, who the hell are you to complain? Seen microsoft share grow over 2005 till date?
Seen Amazon grow?
Seen Apple grow?

All are big users of L1s, H1Bs.

If their hiring practices were bad, they would not have done well as they are.

This is an gross simplification. Anyone who has worked in any decent sized company knows how much deadwood is carried. You would know that the most important thing is not whether a project succeeds or fails, but how well management spins the outcome.
Again, the same point. Given the progress in tech and the value it has delivered to shareholders, who the hell are you to question what way they should operate?

If you have better way to it, start a new company and defeat existing giants. Try it. I challenge you. Hire all the greatest white grads. It should be an opportunity with so much white super talent wasted!

Look, if White talent has been systematically pushed out of silicon valley companies, it would have been an opportunity for you or for someone.

Hire them all and make a product that beats the existing brown dominated market.

There has been a lot of capital around.

Why no one ever bothered to do that?

The stuff you are talking about is just plain stupid.

I am right now hiring for a start up (it is productizing my wife's Phd work in chemical engineering). It also involves a major software component. Its bloody hard to find folks who could optimize a CUDA kernel for performance on smaller GPUs. If there was any talent wasted in the market (black blue white green whatever color you have), I would have grabbed them with both hands.

You are sounding absolutely stupid.

If there are "highly credible candidates" that have been wasted and just floating around, people would have hired them and started new companies. Or you would have done it yourself.

Try starting one and running one and then tell me how it is so easy to hire talent because a lot of it is wasted.

Don't think h1b is radically changing from that

And you can't change it quickly

Ultimately trump belongs to the billionaire investor class

I don't think much can be done in reality, as disgruntled as people might be they are not in the millions to bring change, it's not a mass movement and most people won't risk sounding racist

Btw Europe is set to import even more Indians

It might have to get a few notches worse before people start getting brave, this is I guess s potential first dent

Mass imports of Indians is already stopping.

MAGA is a mass movement and they have the power now. See how Vivek was dumped and Musk has gone quite on the "benefits" of H1B

It does not matter what the billionaires want as MAGA put Trump into power.

Remember it is not just H1B but Indian "students" that are flooding in and taking jobs from white-collar workers in Anglo-Saxon countries.

You do know that Trump's EO got blocked at least temporarily by the court, right?

Huh, make it make sense please

If any person is pushed out and replaced its the definition of opportunity taken away, not created

If your next response is just start your own company...well imagine telling that to an American 😂

Hey look buddy, if you don't like h1b just stop moaning and start your own company....the chutzpah.

Btw, this is just not a White person issue, it's an American citizen issue, you consistently ignore the other perspective and proven cases of h1b abuse, like I posted before, not just white people

If whites are pushed out and are very talented, why the hell people who. know that (it is common knowledge according to you) are not using their talents to form new companies?

Tech industry has seen a MASSIVE boom over past 20 years. Why there is not a SINGLE major company that has exploited this massive talent pool of white geniuses who are not getting jobs in the existing brown infested companies for just being white?

Thats the opportunity for any capitalist entrepreneur!
