Now it is clear what AMCA will look like. This is basically what has already been circulated over the years but with much smaller model

I have a suspicion that this was the earlier AMCA full scale model that was built for RCS measurement at the Open Range (ORANGE) facility. It is not actually fully accurate when compared to the last known AMCA design which is even seen on the DRDO brochure.

The Modi government has been as ineffective as the Congress government (2004-2014) in advancing the Indian Air Force’s modernization. Since 2014, progress has been minimal, with only 36 Rafale jets procured.

HAL, despite manufacturing aircraft for over 60 years, has shown little to no improvements. The organization appears stagnant, struggling with inefficiency, delays, and a lack of accountability toward timelines and commitments..

Can anyone explain why a prototype takes three years to manufacture? Haven't all the preparations and simulation testing been completed over the past decade?"

In real-world prototype development, especially in military aviation, often experiences such prolonged timelines. But the project is started a long ago, what these days were they doing?

AMCA is an ambitious project but poorly managed by HAL. The government could have involved private sector companies or pursued a joint venture, as many other countries do, to overcome any capability gaps."

Still, many doubts on their commitments regarding timelines
I hate to say.....but India should take some production lessons from China.

It is weird if they dont show the real design, very unlogic. The real design must be the one shown in this event, not picture in the brochure

Just like with KF21/IFX, current design has no different with design completed in 2012 December by ADD Korea and Indonesian Aerospace

I dont think they have any sanctioned money for producing model airframe for AI. This is a RCS model for orange facility.

Making mock up model I think is not difficult.

Mock up N250, made several decades ago by Indonesian

It is what it is, I dont think they have any kind of marketing budget.

Otherwise, they be posting monthly updates/videos/pic of Tejas Mk1A/Mk2, AMCA in every social media post, they just dont care.

IAF's PR is far better.

Not America?

They are churning out SSNs and F-35(a true FGFA) like its nothing. But looks like Chinese programming is too strong.

BTW, thats what GE 414 is all about, otherwise you already have a 4th gen engine in Kaveri, but you are incapabe to do mass production in very high scale that you require for future.

You are actually taking lessons from US.
India's problem is slow process. India knows How to make it but don't know when.

Even many western countries incapable to do mass production of complex systems or system of systems.

So there problem is slow process? Eurofighter was backed by whole industrial power of Europe, and they never able to produce more than 30 AC per year.

If you think mass producing 4.5 gen aircraft is a cake walk, then I have nothing else to say to you.

And I know what your intentions were when you pointed out China instead of US. Or what your programmed mind was telling you.

From revised schedule, it is reported that India AMCA will enter Indian Air Force starting in 2035. So I speculate the first prototype roll out will be in 2028, maiden flight will be in 2030. This is based on the Indian revised plan of course (2035 entering the Air Force)

When it comes to schedules in Indian defence R&D and acquisitions things are not straight forward. First, I am assuming its the DRDO/HAL issued dates? In which case it cannot be fully trusted. Second, its up to the IAF's acceptance of the aircraft that would also set or reset the schedule. IAF & IA traditionally have not been a big fan of mainstay weapon systems developed by the DRDO and its subsidiaries. For AMCA to be successful, IAF needs to have maximum participation in the program.

China's mass production program is cost effective. China is Doing better than US in 220B USD. The quality is debatable I agreed. Being a developing country, India has to look after budget also.
