Trump and Musk have made some very strong enemies now and have messed with US constitution and federal workers so much now that once they lose power, they are in for a world of pain.

I wonder what is the plan because they now HAVE to remain in power. Either US becomes a dictatorship or there is going to be a reckoning for these two chaps. Especially Musk.

There is this entire Peter Thiel and his acolytes establishing neo nerd-feudalism pipedream. I wonder if that is their plan.

By means of both long term (Such as youth indoctrination, hence the plan abolishment of Department of Education) and short term (By physically dismantling the federal government)

IN a very short gist, it aimed at replacing the current government functioning wing to MAGA loyalist and then by indoctrinating state youth that would turn in undoubted children that will simply follow order and vote for MAGA. Since there are more Red State than Blue, which mean if this was to succeed, you basically WILL have GOP government in succession. Because if Red State stay red, GOP candidate Will ALWAYS win the election. That's how US federal election work, Blue States have to flip Red State to get in power. It does it with Biden Flipping PA, MI and WI (Well, also AZ and GA), and it did with Obama basically flipping everywhere.

This is all fine and dandy. The trouble happens when something unexpected happens. Trump would have won elections in 2020 as well had it not been for COVID and ensuing mess.

Another black swan event could undo Trump and Musk's plan and then they will have same fate as all dictators.

The best aspect of democracy IMHO is that you can unmake government without blood shed and can loose power without being harmed. The exit strategy of dictatorship almost always devolves into a beeline to grave.

Seems Biden walked into an empty Whitehouse 4 years ago...and Trump was far more militant then.

On the other hand, SCOTUS handed Trump his get out of jail free card by saying everything he did during his presidency is not criminally liable as the proper remedy is to impeach him. So there will not be any serious issue for Trump, Elon Musk on the other hand, is not in the same category.

I would imagine if the Dem retaken power, people are going to put a large pin in him, and he WILL attract all sort of attention there are. But most of them won't be criminal case because Trump WILL preemptively pardon him if GOP loses the 2028 election.

My bigger question is, if Musk and Trump are willing to bend laws and regulations, why will Democrats also not use same playbook to get back at these folks. Is it that hard to dig up something in Musk's past or present that helps them to put him behind the bars for foreseeable future?

That's what I said in the US Politic thread with @RabzonKhan

The exact establishment of DOGE is stupid because it basically give the Democrats their own idea on how they can manipulate the government themselves and basically rip everything off of Conservative Value when they come to power. The only difference is, Democrats have a boarder base of support and those support are a lot richer than GOP base. Think about it this way, how Harris can raise 1.5 billions dollars in 3 months for her campaign, well, she squander every dime of it, but people behind the democratic party are probably more influential than GOP. If they had the government and turn the ball or DOGE around and cancel everything conservative, that is going to be even worse. And MAGA is basically teaching them how they can do it and get away with it.

They can't put Musk behind bar (Probably some state crime if he did committed any, like the PA lottery) because Trump is going to pardon him if GOP loses 2028. They can deport him tho, he did violate his student visa condition, and hence he can actually be denaturalised.

That's the major issue I had with this country, that's why I live in Australia and not in the US anymore.

The reason why Facebook, Amazon, Google head all now warm up to Trump is because they want the same thing, deregulation of control via the promotion of free speech. All 3 runs one of the biggest social media networks on earth, and like Tik Tok in China (Or why Trump now want to rescue Tik Tok), the more authoritarian the better for their own development because you don't need to adhere on social norm when you have a serious of deregulation on free speech, that mean less admin, less moderator, less monitoring, that mean more engagement, more money to be made.

Musk is the one running the show, make no mistake about it, Trump is basically a figure head, as he always was.

Well I'm doing pretty well but there are 2 things that screwed the American Dream

1) College tuition putting new graduates into huge debt..this is the biggest CRIME
2) Institutions buying housing as rental investments

My college debt was about 100% of my salary of my first entry level job out of college.

Yeah I heard from my co-workers how much they owe in Student debt, its crazy that despite paying for years their loan is still massive. As for institution buying property not sure about that.

The student loan program has been a racket for decades.

When i graduated you had like an 18 month grace period before your first payment was due.

I happened to have had some money saved after I graduated and I attempted to pay some of my ELSI loan off early. When i called them up to figure out how to make a payment they said I couldn't. They said I had to wait the full 18 months

I then drove to their office personally to given them my money...and they weren't happy about it. Any talk of these programs as being a "help" to students is BS. They finally accepted an early payment from me (saying nobody ever did it before Well i knew interest was accruing during the "grace" period and I wasn't going to get suckered for 1.5 years)
