Ethno nationalism surfaces when you have a weak national narrative and lack of confidence in the state. Never before until now I have seen such massive amount of ethno nationalist content, Pakhtuns, Baloch, Sindhis and even Punjabis now ( who used to be least xenophobic and ethno nats ).

So there were all kinds of people in Canada waving their own flags. Khalistani, Sanghis, Ukrainian types, White supremacist Trump leaning MAGA types, "**** Truedue" types ... Every one but Canadian types. People used to fly anything but Canada's flag.

A crisis pushes far left out and bring the sanity back. Now nation is more united than ever.

Same can happen in Pakistan, if a strong nationalist sentiment takes over, it will push out left leaning and ethno-tribalism. Never let a crisis go waste. Push for the change needed.
