this guy was scammed by someone at Tehran airport. so many airport workers and other people are witnessing this foreign tourist being harassed and scammed and nobody gives a shit or tries to help him.
I came across many scammers in Tehran a few months ago
iran is becoming like India. so much for the famous hospitality
maybe you went a long time ago, these days people are very desperate and crime and scamming is at very high levelsCome on! Like India is bit harsh isn't it? When I was there the first time nobody scammed me and my brother. At the airport we got the royal treatment. We came to Iran with only Swedish bankcards, not knowing that we needed to have physical cash on hand. Don't blame me! Google lied to me. I didn't know better. Immigration refused to let us into the country because we couldn't prove we had sufficient funds to do manage ourselves while in the country. A couple of young women came to our rescue and went to head of immigration and gave a scolding like I've never seen. Then and there I knew Iran was no different from every other place I've been to, women were in charge! They sorted out our situation and we were finally allowed into the country. Since we didn't have any cash we were saved by another female, a co-passenger on our flight loaned us 100 dollars, took us to Tehran and bought us food so we could at least manage till we could secure some cash. It was a similar story throughout our whole trip, in every city we visited. Strangers went out of the way to assist us with generosity and genuine hospitality.
Wallahi I have nothing negative to say. Maybe this dude was just unlucky or things have really changed for the worst.
Scammers have always been in Iran and everywhere, the important point is the police's handling of these .maybe you went a long time ago, these days people are very desperate and crime and scamming is at very high levels
you cannot compare the situation in iran with other countries. police seems almost impotent in iran, they only show themselves in times of riotsScammers have always been in Iran and everywhere, the important point is the police's handling of these .
Well, you don't know anything about Iran's police. Dealing with criminals, fraudsters, thieves, terrorists, smugglers, controlling borders, roads, traffic, etc. is the daily work of the police in Iran, and they are the most active military department in Iran's armed forces.you cannot compare the situation in iran with other countries. police seems almost impotent in iran, they only show themselves in times of riots
