Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

Wow! Shock horror!

Like we didn’t know that a bunch of nobodies could dislodge a formidable government.
But... But...many here still believe it was merely a quota movement, where students were protesting for their right to government jobs. Haha.

At the very beginning of the protest, Hasina addressed the nation in a press conference, stating that the real motive of some protesters wasn’t to abolish the quota system but to destabilize the government. She specifically claimed that criminals who did not believe in the spirit of our liberation war were hiding among the protesters, waiting for opportunities to create chaos, and she called those culprits as razakars.

Back then, we didn’t believe her. We lashed out at her for calling the protesters as razakars as we were blinded by the narratives presented to us. We failed to evaluate the entire incident from a neutral perspective. In reality, the gullible students were just pawns in a much bigger game, and they didn't have a clue about it.

So all fault lies with everyone else but Hasina?

All she needed to do was cancel the quota and not give order to shoot at civilians. But hey, let's all pretend that didn't happen. It's all American conspiracy, convenient to live in denial that way.
Hasina failed to deal with the situation swiftly as she was overconfident, I agree with it.

Who is this 'we'?

But I agree that people need to stop antagonize the army as a whole
Not the military as a whole bro. Generals can't pitt mid level and below military mens against us.
The army is the reason there wasn't another massacre on August 5th.
Mid level and below. Generals were always awami league...

Some people are unable to distinguish between Generals and soldiers unfortunately. I have seen couple of posts where they are actively going against army as a whole. People are just too emotional. They need to stop and think what they are saying.

Army may need to takeover given the law and order situation.

Younus has proven to be an incompetent administrator.

Yikes!

I have no idea whether this is true or not!

If true - it sets the pretext for military takeover.

If false - it means US has green lighted the use of “terrorism” threat for a military takeover.

Military chief would not be so bald without backing from the big players.

This is extremely serious!

Pinaki and certain others like him (Kanak Sarwar and Elias Hossain) definitely propagating a narrative for their interest group.

Zulkarnain Saer has been debunking these absurd claims. And these guys have been openly going at it against each other.

Their role pre-Hasina vs now has changed. All these social media influencers are singing the tune of their respective camps.

They served a purpose in Hasina's downfall. But anyone taking them seriously now will be made to look like fool. A rumor was widespread in social media last night that something (army coup) is definitely going to happen. But as we all can see, these are nothing but misinformation.

Zulkarnain Saer has an interesting past. His real name is different. I don’t think he is an active Al Jazeera reporter. Al Jazeera says he is a past investigative reporter.
I think the recent event about NCP and Walker has been blown out of proportion.
My two cents about General Walker is that he is trying to shield the army from the misdeeds of the last 16 years. This will also complicate cases against Hasina and her cohorts.

Have been hearing a lot of rumours to this effect in Indian media and social media. Hopefully, this is untrue. I am no fan of the IG but an outright army intervention is not something that should be welcomed. As the unfortunate example of PAK shows, there are long term unwelcome consequences.

Regards
