Like we didn’t know that a bunch of nobodies could dislodge a formidable government.
At the very beginning of the protest, Hasina addressed the nation in a press conference, stating that the real motive of some protesters wasn’t to abolish the quota system but to destabilize the government. She specifically claimed that criminals who did not believe in the spirit of our liberation war were hiding among the protesters, waiting for opportunities to create chaos, and she called those culprits as razakars.
Back then, we didn’t believe her. We lashed out at her for calling the protesters as razakars as we were blinded by the narratives presented to us. We failed to evaluate the entire incident from a neutral perspective. In reality, the gullible students were just pawns in a much bigger game, and they didn't have a clue about it.
