Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

So your whole post is based on a Facebook video? Anymore sources warranting respect or you happy to rely on an individual posting on Facebook?
No bro. It was one of many incidents. My post was made to demonstrate the pathetic condition of BD police right now, and how they r afraid to take any action against criminals.

Our houses r getting burned down, museums r getting demolished, people r getting beaten for making post on Facebook and the list just goes on. Mind u, all these r happening infornt of the police and they r too damn scared to do anything.

Can someone please post the full NYT article because I want to see what this is about ...

This is an excellent article, and everything mentioned in it rings true. I believe articles like this deserve a separate thread, as they highlight the current plight of moderates in Bangladesh.

Dr. Jahed's take on the rise of fundamentalism in Bangladesh is absolutely spot on.

I've said it time and again about the utter failure of the Yunus government to establish the rule of law in the country.

Slowly but surely, everyone is getting fed up with their incompetence in running the government.

Younus only has the support of the die hard Islamists - about 15% of the population. Mainly Madrasa educated “students”.

If he had the support of even 1/3 of the population - he would go to the polls.

The reluctance to go to the polls says more than the bluster and lies we see from the keyboard warriors.

Yunus, along with his child advisors, severely lacks the ability to run the government properly. From law and order to the economy, Bangladesh has been performing poorly in every single sector, to the point that it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say the country has moved 20 years backwards in the last 7 months.

He severely lacks knowledge about politics, and most of the time, it seems as though he doesn’t even know what he's talking about—like calling us the guardian of the ocean or whatever. Hehe.

I suppose he is being fed these nonsensical rhetorics by his half-educated child advisors, who know nothing about international politics. On one hand, he wants his child shommonoyoks to march towards Delhi; on the other hand, he begs the Indian Prime Minister for a meeting. On one hand, he wants to stop trading with India; on the other hand, he buys thousands of tons of rice from it. Like seriously?

The sooner he goes away, the better it is for us, because the country is on the verge of collapse, both in terms of the economy and security. People of Bangladesh has had enough of this nonsense.

Yes, he has a hidden desire to stay in power for a longer period. That’s why he doesn’t want to take action against these fundamentalists—because he needs them on the ground to fight against the supporters of BNP, AL, and other political parties in the upcoming days. These extremists will come in handy during that time.

He is entitled to his opinion but his words means nothing to Inquilabi. This guy is a product of Protom alo.

Enough said!

Dr. Yunus ain't going anywhere until he decides to go.

What's your beef with Madrasa students?

When Dr. Yunus said anything about contesting in election? He has been very clear and straight forward. He will stay in power until Awami displeased league totally neutralized.

Dr. Yunus has the support of Bd peple minus Awami disposed League.

That is as far detached from reality as one can be.

Also - madrassah education is one key reason why Bangladesh's overall literacy rate increased over the years. Something for which even Hasina took credit.

Good old awami indian excuses.

There will not be any polls without neutralizing anti Bangladesh and dalal elements.

LOL, except awami terror sympathizers nobody is a keyboard warrior or a mouth fodder these days...

Everybody will fall in line but awami league will perish. 😊

BTW, BAL has huge amount of blood debt to Hefazat E Islam and Jamayat. Start thinking about how BAL goons are going to repay them back first... 😆

Typical awami terror sympathizers baseless copy paste rants.
