Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

'
What is secularism and how does it apply to Bd?

Bd people will decide how they want to move forward.

You can celebrate valentine or falentine as mush as you like. No body give iota.

If Bd people disowned any foreign HM celebrations then its good for them.

Understand this. Your Awami bigotry got no room left in new Bd. Faster you come to reality is good for your helth. Kapish!
Who gave these fundamentalists the right to decide on behalf of the people of Bangladesh? Nobody. They are free to practice their beliefs as they see fit, but they have no right to impose them on others.

Watch the video I posted above—Bobby Hajjaj explained it well. You or I may not personally celebrate Valentine’s Day, but does that give us the right to stop others from celebrating? Absolutely not. Secularism means that no one can force their beliefs onto others.

Every citizen of Bangladesh has the right to celebrate or practice whatever they choose, as long as they abide by the laws of the country. The real issue lies with these so-called 'mullahs' who act self-righteous and try to dictate others’ lives instead of minding their own business.

We desperately need BAL back because 1/3 of the population doesn’t understand the basic concept of secularism:

“No one has the right to force their belief onto others”

You grow your beard as long as you like but don’t force others to grow a beard or cover their head.

You will goto Aynaghor - no apologies - if you cannot abide by this simple rule.

Same rule currently practiced by US/UK.

Okay, I do not disagree. Everyone should live freely as per their linking.

But understand this. If so called secular minded people try to impose hindu culture on Bd Muslims in the name of secularism will be dealt harshly.

Give an example of “imposing Hindu culture”.

As a secular person - I would oppose any school that banned head scarves - for instance. That’s atheism not secularism.

Anyway, ball’s in your court.

The video appears unavailable. Also can you summarize the key points in English for all to understand per forum rule?
Ahh. That's sad. I can view it it from my browser though.

"These Shommonoyoks lack knowledge about Bangladesh’s history and culture. How dare these kids question our Liberation War and draw false parallels between 1971 and 2024.

While Bangladesh’s constitution has room for improvement, it still represents a liberal democracy. True democracy means respecting differing opinions, not imposing beliefs on others.

For example, while some may not support Valentine’s Day, no one has the right to stop others from celebrating it. That's the beauty of democracy where others view on life is respected as well.

Groups identifying as Towhidi Jonota should not be allowed to engage in vandalism, such as attacking flower shops on Valentine’s Day. This touhidi jonota label is being misused to justify extremist actions.

In fact, individuals welcoming the culprit accused of harassing women at Dhaka University have ties to radical organizations like Hizb ut-Tahrir. These extremists are trying to push their ideology under the guise of Towhidi Jonota.

For the first time since 1971, no major newspaper ads were published for International Mother Language Day. What is the real motive of these student leaders? Should we forget 1952, March 26, or the significance of 1971 just because of their statements?

Since August 5, little has changed. Media remains hesitant to report on the new student party NCP. Yes, some BNP leaders have been involved in extortion. However many of them have already been expelled for their misdeeds. But what about Shommonoyoks? They have also been accused of serious crimes. Why is the media so afraid to criticize them?

These Shommonoyoks are organizing massive roadshows, yet their sources of funding remain undisclosed.

Transparency is crucial in politics. Every political party, including BNP and Jamaat, should disclose their sources of funding. As someone actively involved in politics, I understand how expensive it is to run a party. If student leaders genuinely want political transparency, they should start by revealing their own sources of funding instead of just giving speeches"

Stop advocating and justifying locking up people in illegal secret prison without justice, just because they share a different point of view. You are endorsing an illegal act per Bangladeshi constitution and law, and as well as that of the country you currently reside.

Consider this the last verbal warning in this regard and I am being very lenient here.

You are truly a toxic person.

You have to spew hate even on Eid.

Absolutely despicable!

Nobody in Bangladesh will show a little bit of mercy towards awami league and its supporters. Hating awami league is fashionable now. So don't blame him...

Ground reality and fake indian awami propaganda narrative from reddit and X is very different. Just statin facts... 😆

There's severe law and order crisis right now in Bangladesh. The whole country is in complete chaos where people r getting away by committing all sorts of crimes by announcing themselves as shommonoyoks or students.

It has become extremely easy to beat someone to death by declaring them as BAL sympathisers (whether they r really bal supporters or not doesn't matter), loot and burn their properties in broad daylight in the name of Mob justice.

The situation is so grave, that even police aren't bothering to meddle in things, and they have become so spineless that they have stopped taking actions to prevent possible crimes.

Remember how police and Army stood in silence like poppets when student mobs broke into a house in Gulshan, and looted it infornt of the media by claiming Bal leaders were hiding there? This government's utter failure to provide punishment to those student goons has brought us to the current situation where we don't know for sure whether we'll be able to come back home in one piece after stepping outside.

Look at the below video where Police intentionally decided not to do anything when the car driver or the person sitting on top of it could easily got killed. This clearly demonstrates that the entire country is in a state of complete anarchy.
