Unlike most of the planet, huge swathes of Pakistan and Afghanistan are deeply connected in every way. On both sides we have Pashtuns, Baloch and Hazaras. Also hundreds of thousands of Tajiks, Uzbeks ( including myself ) and Turkmens in Pakistan. Our agencies have decades of experience operating in Pakistan and most Afghans would love to work in Pakistan ( the nationalistic rants are rants at the end of the day ).

So yes, with proper motivation it's possible and would solve alot of issues ( Durand line, foreign proxies and terrorist camps )

That depends. Are we nation building like superpowers and trying to make humans out of them or ethnic cleansing the land and holding the territory. No population no insurgency.

There are stretches of Afghanistan along the Pakistani border with little to no population where we can practice invasion. Kandahar and Helmand deserts, southern paktika, lalpura and goshta districts of nangarhar, eastern kunar, Nuristan, and wakhan.

We can invent words for these, buffer zone, demilitarized zone, you get the point. No need to annex.

And it's not like Afghanistan will never give us the excuse in the future. We should have done it in the 60s when the invaded Bajaur and Mohmand agencies. We should have resorted to just defending. But what's done is done.

What we need to do now is delete the Islammi baradar mulk mentality and consider afghanistan, not even India, but Afghanistan our first and foremost enemy. And EVERYTHING should be on the table in case of open hostilities. EVERYTHING.
