Pakistan's Waqf properties are governed by both federal and provincial laws, including the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Waqf Properties Ordinances (1979) and the Islamabad Capital Territory and Sindh Waqf Properties Acts (2020).

A legislation on similar lines has been enacted in India too.

Where is the issue?

Dar al-Islam & Dar al-Harb are different concepts , here waqf is not for donations/charity work etc.

Here its a tool for domination, where local Hindus & Christians were forcefully evicted, tortured and their own money was used to spread Islam.

Maulanas don't like their domination challenged within the community or outside.

Congress after Babri demolition gifted these maulana entire Indian land without any checks.

Things are just getting little balanced, still no respite to poor Hindus ,ASI ,Trusts whose properties are forcibly looted by waqf.

Hindu temples are under govt control, temple boards have govt members and they are heavily taxed.

Even after this law, waqf board still exist and they will have nominal govt interference.

I don't think many Pakistanis commenting here know how Waqaf runs in India. There are many issues Muslims face but this is not one of them.

Secondly Waqaf is a state run organisation under minority affairs. It's not a private entity. Any organisation that receive government funds are subject to rules framed by the government.

India is a communal cesspit of a state, hundreds of millions of Indian Muslims have zero representation, the waqf protects their history, culture and property

Muslims don't want Hindus who they don't trust to have any say in their personal affairs

The hatred and enmity in India is obvious, separation even internal is the best option, this is why Indian Muslims are in the move and the waqf has become so active in asserting Muslim property rights

The backlash is just politics. The unchecked powers given to the waqf board were bound to be brought under scanner sooner or later. People who actually knows about the crux of the issue won't care about this and will go about their day.

Their are already inheritance right within Muslim law

This is about defence of Muslim property, heritage, language, culture and faith from a enemy

It's why Indian Muslims are on the move and why outward religious expression has increased in the face of a hindutva extremist enemy

This is a war and Indian Muslims have to defend themselves

They hate the fact that Muslim Waqf owns so much land, but Hindus are 80% of India's population --- if every Hindu contributed a little Zakat over the last 500 years they would have something that's 1000x the size of Muslim Waqf.

But they don't have that, because in their views lower castes DESERVE their current condition and a concept like Zakat that tries to bridge the gap is an affront to their revered caste system!

Maybe waqf should benefit Muslims. Your holistic stuff don't happen IRL. A few powerful control the entire waqf property and Muslims in India largely depend on government handouts. Take any schemes disproportionate number of Muslims are the beneficiaries. Instead of advising others practice what you preach.

I understand mate, Hinduism is a rich tradition stretching back thousands of years. Thank you for shedding some light on the concept of the Dalits.

I know religious discussions are supposedly not permitted, but I always think that it’s not really possible to avoid ultimately, as this forum is centred on a country founded primarily because of religious sentiments. Nevertheless, I will always invite yourself and others to read the Quran with an open mind and I wish the very best for you

A lot of them convert to either a Jacob or a Jamal, but they still face discrimination from the ogs of their new adopted faith.
