Can the US win a war with China? Shocking new simulation reveals what could happen if Taiwan is attacked

which ones after ww2?
The communist trio in Korea such as North Korea, China, and Soviet Union. The US had reduced the size of its army when war in the Korean region broke out in 1950 but the US was still able to restore South Korea in the region in 1953. The US had a Cold War with Soviet Union that lasted 43 years. The US aimed to check Soviet advances in Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan and pushed for Color Revolution in Soviet Union to split it from within.

Iraq became a formidable regional power in the Middle East with Soviet and European support and annexed Kuwait in 1990. Iraq had its reasons to invade Kuwait (additional perspective in here) and was the only country that could challenge Israel in the region but the US intervened to degrade Iraqi military capability and push for regime change in Iraq. Unfortunate but it is what it is.

The US is up against impressive or competent odds most of the time. There are always challenges to navigate through in the world. The global superpower status cannot be achieved and maintained by allowing other states to do whatever they want to. This is a continuous struggle.

If you read the Korean War, the NK did have an advantage early on, and then the US came in and turned the tide, but you are forgeting that the Chinese came in later and forced the US to retreat back to the 38th parallel. The US was on the verge of reaching the Chinese border. The same goes for Vietnam, we were the ones changing the tide against all odds. Remember Mc Arthur wanted to nuke China. Also remember how US lost China to CCP, they didn't send in a single boot.

North Korea invaded South Korea in 1950 with Soviet support and Soviet Union also convinced China to join the war effort. North Korean intent was to annex South Korea and all communist powers reached a consensus on this matter. China-led forces also crossed the 38th parallel and occupied numerous South Korean lands including Seoul in the Chinese spring offensive in 1951. The intent was to negotiate an outcome with the US from the position of strength. However, US-led forces regrouped in Pusan and restored South Korea up to 38th parallel in subsequent battles. Some North Korean lands were also overrun in this push but they were given back to North Korea in the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953. This is the full story.

Chinese spring offensive is the most impressive communist achievement in this war from the standpoint of logistics, planning, and execution in the face of impressive odds. Chinese movie does not show this development.

China did not directly send troops until the US crossed the Yalu, correct me if I am wrong.

please no. dont twist the truth. was soviet union directly involved in korean war? did china possess tech and and a military like it does now?

and iraq was coming out of a 10 year war with iran, and cannot, in any way be compared to the US. it was neither competent or impressive. just US propaganda.

Realistically, US has not fought a war with a peer since WW2.

Iraq was far from a formidable regional power in 1990s. Iraq had been crushed by Iran during the war. It was financially broke, way more than today's Iran. Her banks had defaulted. It had the highest debt in the world after war with Iran.

Any military power in the region can invade Kuwait on the ground. It's not impressive at all. It's a tiny country that was much weaker than it is today. Countries like Bahrain and Kuwait used to be some of the smallest provinces of Iran.

The US invasion of Iraq in 2003 was anything but surprising. The society of Iraq had collapsed due to years of poverty and religious/ethnic tensions. The Iraqi economy had completely collapsed after the war with Iran and the US and her Arb neighbors never let Saddam regrow the Iraqi economy. That was the main reason behind Saddam's invasion of Kuwait to begin with.

This is a self-soothing rhetoric. The US have fought wars with some of the greatest powers of the world throughout history. The difference is that the US has technological superiority which regional powers cannot offset. Regional powers typically have corruption and arrogance. Many are upset and vent like in this thread.
This is not rhetoric, it is definitely a fact. The US only fights against countries that cannot fight back, and it has been that way since the Korean War. You could not tell me a single country that they have gone to war with with their own MIC, because that happened in World War II.

It is like the officer said: the US has a powerful USAF that comes down like a club against countries that are not able to defend themselves.

This is not a rant, but a historical reality. You can dispute this all you want, but this is undeniable: the US has not fought against some of the greatest powers.

More than a mistake to underestimate American power, it would be indecent to overestimate the capabilities of the US, even though they really are the largest and most powerful military force on the planet, their power has only been used against smaller countries with no chance of entering a war of equality, the only proof that the US is really the military power they describe would be if they had fought against Russia or China and won, which did not happen, other than that, there is nothing feasible to prove that the Americans are capable of defeating them based on previous wars against countries that did not even have their own MIC.

Dude, all your examples were not direct wars, except against Iraq. It would be the equivalent of saying that Russia is fighting the entire NATO in Ukraine, but I'm sure many here would disagree, including me, because that is far from the truth. NATO's involvement in Ukraine and the USSR/China's involvement in Korea may be much deeper, but they were not direct wars between states with an official political formalization. There is simply no way to equate this to a direct war like what was the case with Iraq.

Calling Iraq a formidable power in the Middle East is an understatement. In addition to being a small country and having a technological disadvantage, the terrain did not favor defense. Without air cover, they were easy targets for the enemy Coalition. Not to mention the fact that this "formidable power" in the Middle East was not even capable of defeating Iran in the 80s.

America never fought a war with peer equal ......china is America's worst nightmare
Imperial Japan and Der Fuhrer all at the same time. 🙄

Only war chyna fought and won was the great Tiananmen square war of 1989 where PLA lost many soldiers against unarmed civilians.

Korean War? Vietnam War? What about losing the whole Chinese Continent to CCP? Where was USA when KMT needed you most? LOL

The Germans killed mostly Jews and Gypsies, if you exclude military casualties. The Japs want to wipe out the Chinese race and replace it with Japs. That's the difference. They were researching bio weapons in unit 713 to specifically target the Han race, but of course it didn't work because they themselves have 60-70% Han genetics. Han people were never homogenous, we are a cultural entity, we mixed in the South, North and West we don't go fcking genocide.
you misunderstand.
I never propose a tri national union between China-Japan-Vietnam.
I propose Japan-Vietnam, China-Vietnam.
same same but not the same
