J-10C is modern day F-86. Rafale is modern day Mystere.

Recent J-10s in Egypt exercise were there for this purpose.

Pakistan’s next batch may be on hold because PAF is perhaps having difficulty securing further financing in lieu of what it already has secured wrt to J-35s.

i think otherwise, no information, just thinking out loud, that PAF has funding allocated for 25 and asked or 11 more, these 11 could be delayed but 25 are all set

Also remember that PAF has got blk3, if I am not wrong, they have 23 blk3 flying around with pl15 integration capability update.

Too early for any Egyptian J-10 to be flying already. We already saw a J-10 in PAF colors in China during the airshow so most likely these are for the second batch for Pakistan

I also have a sneaky suspicion that they will likely not commit to a larger batch until they’ve put a few more hours on these and really proven them.

A follow up 36-45 planes would not be considered large commitment

We have to retire 150 older planes (which are equipped with good missiles) but time to upgrade

If Pakistan ordered re-ordered 100+ craft that would be considered large order

But 18, 36 would be quite normal

would it not be wise to phase out older blocks of f16s, and replace them with J10s. The old f16 are at their end.

Not going to get Blk 70+ upgrades and there is no need to buy new f16s when J10 exists.

J10 can replace Mirage and F16 which speaks volumes to the capability of J10
