PAF Future Acquisition Plans

If things develope on line of control we may find out soon enough. The media in India wants a response for the terror attacks in Kashmir IE military strike
Air power
Long range cruise missiles
Special forces

Just cutting off water is deemed not sufficient

New weapons not available in 2019
Astra Bvr and rudram on flankers
New jammers
Rafale massive
Tejas mark1 only with Derby Bvr and Astra
S400 air defense system
Pralay ballistic missle

For Pakistan
J10 c with Pl15
Block 3 thunders with Aesa and new Bvrs

These are just few tools. Both countries have a lot more options dear. Keep an eye on possible objectives each govt. want to achieve in the end and you will be in better position to identify possible action from each side.

Yeah Indian media wants a ‘response’ before any investigation🙈😂don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Note, no such stupid demands from Pakistan’s media every time their Govt accuses India of orchestrating similar attacks in Balochistan.

Why are they referred to as the "export version" then?
Because they're configured differently from the PLAAF's fighters. For example, the PAF's J-10CEs would use the PAF's TDLs (which involves PAF-supplied SDRs, for example), can do air-to-surface strikes with SOWs, etc.

When China exports advanced weapons, it provides customized services.

Fighters, warships, submarines, armored vehicles, etc. Their basic platforms are exactly the same as the PLA's own version. However, the internal configuration is chosen by the customer. You can choose a better configuration than the PLA's own version, but the price will be higher; you can also choose a worse configuration than the PLA's own version, but the price will be cheaper. This choice is entirely up to the customer.
The 054A/P frigate purchased by the Pakistani Navy has a higher configuration and stronger performance than the PLA Navy's own version of the 054A frigate.

Usually.
The PLA emphasizes the systematic combat capability of advanced weapons. Foreign trade customers emphasize the independent combat capability of the weapons themselves. (The vast majority of countries do not have advanced systematic combat support platforms.)
The PLA emphasizes the capabilities of one aspect of advanced weapons. Foreign trade customers emphasize the comprehensive combat capability of weapons.

The PLAAF's J-10C is an air superiority fighter, and the PAF's J-10CE is a multi-mission fighter. Different positioning determines different configurations.
Judging from the public pictures, some pilots of the PAF's J-10CE are equipped with the latest version of the top-level fly helmet. We have never seen the PLAAF's J-10C pilots wearing this type of helmet.

The PLA's own version of advanced weapons will be equipped with a PLA-specific data link and systemized combat system. The export version of advanced weapons will cancel this part, or replace it with the customer's own system, or replace it with the foreign trade version provided by Chinese military enterprises.

That's all.

In fact, when countries around the world export advanced weapons, there are some differences between the self-use version and the export version. Even the same type of weapons exported to different countries are different.
The F-35A received by each country is not the same.
The Su-30/Su-35 exported to different countries is also different.
This is international practice.

Thanks for the insights.

How confident is PAF that the J-10CE will give them a qualitative edge versus indian Rafales?

HQ9P army
LY 80 army
LY 80 Ev army
HQ-16FE LOMAD ,airforce
Upgraded Spada 2000

This is a question without an answer. You need to judge for yourself.

The original positioning of J-10C is 4th-Gen medium air superiority fighter; the original positioning of Rafale is 4th-Gen medium multi-role fighter. There is no generation gap and no size difference between them.
With the same system support (ignoring the individual ability of the pilot), the air superiority fighter is better than the multi-role fighter. ------ The purpose of air superiority fighter is designed for this.

But. When PAF purchased J-10CE, its positioning was changed to multi-role fighter. Due to military secrets, we cannot know how much changes have been made to the internal of this fighter.
From the analysis of public information, the capabilities of the systemized combat support system of PAF and IAF are comparable. With the support of China, PAF is slightly ahead of IAF in systemized combat support capabilities, but the lead is not large.

Therefore, if PAF's J-10CE fights IAF's Rafale, it depends more on who discovers the other first and launches an attack.

I think it is time for PAF to consider buying Chinese KJ-500 since it is capable of detecting flying/moving objects in very long range.

Current affairs should be the impetus/shot in the arm to accelerate J-35 induction. The earlier PAF has this capability, the better.

PAF needs to think technology over-match vis-a-vis the other side. Geo-politics, suppliers, induction times are all factors that need to be considered. PAF has an advantage, it needs to be realized post haste.
