When it comes to Pakistan, although India and Pakistan share many cultural and linguistic similarities, the Indian public still holds a strongly negative view. This is mainly because of the history of violence and terrorist attacks since 1989, where many incidents have been linked back to Pakistan.

For example, my own child, who is just 13 years old, is already developing a negative perception of Pakistan, simply because whenever there’s a terrorist incident, Pakistan’s name is often associated with it. He doesn’t even fully understand the deeper border and political issues yet, but the emotional impression is already forming.

It’s truly a tragedy, and frankly, a failure, that even after so many decades of independence, Pakistan still cannot provide even basic, decent medical care for its own citizens.
