There's nothing ethical in geopolitics. You have to look for your survival. Indus water system is Pakistan's lifeline. You won't feel a thing today or tomorrow or in 2 years but by 5 years you will face serious impact on life if you let it go.
Capturing key mountain peaks & valleys that contribute most to these river systems is the way to go Or otherwise create enough other problems for india that they are bound to take back their decision.
I hope Pakistan will pay highest priority to Naval forces in times to come.
In light of IWT suspension, Pakistan must achieve significant strategic capabilities that could pressure India to not do any diversion on Pakistani rivers. Right now, we can block our airspace which puts a lot of pressure on indian airlines / air traffic but this may not be significant enough. We must to be able to do naval blockage of indian oil tanker ships from the gulf towards india. This sea route passes right in front of Gwadar from strait of hormuz. We need to quickly build a larger navy for serious strategic impact in next 5 yrs. This confrontation may continue.

India's PR has taken a nosedive and a lot of that is because of how Indians reacted to what happened in Palestine, despite India in the past being part of the socialist bloc and having good relations with the PLO.
Most of the younger crowd sees Indians making fun of dead children in Gaza and think whatever happened in Pahalgam was justified.
