its the edge in terms of retaining energy, however, the pl-15 does have a sustainer motor, but beyond this, my main interest is its aesa seeker, but also the dispersal of pl-15 among more assets. better ecm, LPI etc- poorer situational awareness for rafales

Thats what Abhinandan did on 27 Feb 2019. Saab Aewc was monitoring it and alerted the F-16 which shot it down.Read Kaisar Tufail version if events.

Unofficially, When abhinandan poped up on SAAB radars, the nearest F-16 was 10-15km and He did surprise us. Exploited the weakness of radar gaps. It was a serious breach as he could easily launch its R-73. ThankGod Saab WC Noman acted swiftly and took him down
 
Time flies quickly. Just yesterday PAF got AMRAAM c-5s and soon they needed a dual-pulse Pl-15 to counter IAF's acquisition. What is concerning is India's local ramjet missile is in testing now and any solution China is designing or starting to field is based around its larger platforms.

In 5 years, PAF might find it self in a pickle. Hopefully, they are taking steps to mitigate it.

An other thing ie iaf has rafale in limited nos. At the moment...so they would employ them in air superiority roles...so in any engagement they will provide top cover to the fomation/ strike package.
Wt u have suggested in ur previous post would only happen as a last ditch resort.

The stated range of Meteor is 100 miles....the stated of pl 15 is close to 200 miles......
Meteor after 100 km is almost at the limits of its capability while pl15 at 100 km has lots of room to do lots of thing.
Wt Ukraine has taught us is the fact that western tech is more hype any thing else.

That is not true....he was picked up long long before wt u have stated.
He along with the paIr of su 30 providing top cover were picked up as soon as they entered the sector.
One su 30 was shot down the other bugged out n the comms of mig 21 were jammed n hence it dident know wt hit him.

The wing commander too was under the impression that he would be able to do a sneak attack on the f 16.....but "the only reason why he was allowed to come close was due to the rules of engagement ie PAF could only shoot aircraft that crossed the LOC."
So wg cmd nando was shot very close to the loc n the momentum carried the wreckage n him over into Azad Kashmir.
 
If paf wants they can consider throwing in some money to develop CFTs for jf17 that may really change the game just like how Israeli spent money developing it for f16s

But issue will be engine as well can they integrate a better Chinese engine without any issues

Drop fuel tanks and fire all 4 pl15 which have better range then meteor so obviously thunder would have advantage here

The video was released on November 3, 2022. It is a program produced by CCTV, so it has an absolute official attribute. The unit visited by the reporter is the China Air-to-Air Missile Research Institute.

1. The video clearly mentioned that PL-15E/PL-10E can be equipped on the JF-17 fighter.
2. The missile production line is a very advanced flexible and intelligent production line.

Chinese official programs generally do not involve specific performance data of weapons.

I believe that's what they intended to achieve with the PFX though I doubt they'll succeed.

I had posted this image some time ago in this post (https://defencepk.com/forums/threads/jf-17-updates-news-discussion.90/post-482095) some time pack of a picture taken at Kamra indicating PL15 integration. At the time, we thought it was optimistic/or incorrect. We can see that image was correct of capability. So, the question is, if the PL15 under the belly is also correct ? ie it can carry 5 PL15s, not just 4 ?

And it was carrying a jammer on the new chin-hardpoint as well. So, with the new reveal which matches the above picture, i think we can assume that there is a PL15 on the belly too.

Maybe the Indians realised this image is true and that is what scared away the Indian Navy back to port ?
