This whole scenario seems to have developed suddenly, out of the blue. One thing I find interesting is that, while other countries are led by a single leader, Trump in the US, Netanyahu in Israel, Modi in India, I have no idea who's leading Pakistan. There's some guy sitting in the PM chair, I'm not sure who it is, but he's nowhere to be seen. I saw an interview of the defence minister, a man called Khawaja or something, and he didn't have a clue about what's going on. I think I know more than him.
That leads to the conclusion that it is the COAS, Asim Munir, who's running Pakistan. However, he can't appear in front of the world as the leader, so he's staying in the background and on the surface, it appears like Pakistan is running on autopilot.
Although I don't like Asim Munir because of the destruction he's caused to Pakistan, we're in a situation where we need the military to fight this war, so we need to support them no matter who's leading it. But I’ll allow myself to say that if Pakistan’s economy had been strong then it would have had many more friends in the world and its military would have had a much bigger budget to work with. But that’s all in the past. Now the war is upon us, and we’ll have to deal with it the best we can.
