This sets lots of legal precedents about so-called terrorism trials. Deliberately targeting civilians can be shrugged off if the blame is shifted to low-level or non-human faulty intelligence.

The US has been using this excuse for decades about hits on targets that later turned out to be civilians. Israel never bothered even with such formalities, given its hubris and control of the Western power structure. This is just putting AI in the mix to evade blame even more.

At the end of the day, who gets away with what depends not on moral or ethical rules but simply on who has bigger weapons.
