Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

seems USA is really not happy about losing their second F-18 to the bottom of the Red Sea
Fortunately or unfortunately, US should expect to lose more F-18s against the Houthis, because wars automatically involve losses, especially if US continues its Yemen campaign.

Or has US lost military resilience to accept acceptable and reasonable losses in wars it engages in?

all it would take is a single strike on any USN asset and the Americans will flee like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan

PDF members who still think Iranian ballistic missiles and TP3 would be ineffective if they strike Israel JUST LEFT THE FORUM.

Pretty embarrassing not only for israel, but in particular the US, as the hit on ben gurion reveals two failures. The first one being the failure of THAAD air defence system to intercept the missile, and the second one being the very fact that this type of missile was launched, which reflects US failure in their war against Yemen. Their bombardment has not deterred or stopped Ansarallah.

But we should probably expect a large us/israel attack on Yemen in the coming days (not that that will be any more successful than what the previous attacks have been up to this point lol)

The problem with Iran is that they deliberately don't want to kill any Israelis because it would escalate the conflict and bring in the US.

Iran gives plenty of warning and strikes empty buildings to 'send a message'.

Depends upon how much the US knows about Iranian military infrastructure. Houthi have a less visible network of forces in comparison to most countries (much of it is underground), and American situational awareness for Houthi infrastructure was sketchy to begin with. Virtually every American military affairs expert is of the view that AirLand Battle doctrine is required to defeat Houthi in war but Hegseth did not consider this approach. Perhaps the US saw in Yemen an opportunity to stress test naval technology and regime change is not on the cards yet.
True that the US has focused intelligence gathering on Iran much more so than Yemen but Iran is also much larger than Yemen and has much greater underground infrastructure.

Israel was up against both Hamas and Hezbollah in war and was able to defeat Hezbollah in war even though the latter was the larger and more capable force in comparison to Hamas on all counts but war with Hamas continues. Israel most likely had better knowledge of Hezbollah infrastructure and how to exploit and degrade it. However, Hamas seems to have less visible network of forces (much of it is underground), and still in the fight. Israel is using AI to determine what to attack in Gaza:
Partially valid but I think it is difficult to compare. Hezbollah was 'defeated' because it was not willing to continue to 'sacrifice' civilian infrastructure in the course of a long war (like in Gaza). Israeli perceptions of the magnitude of Hamas' success against Israel on October 7th and their punitive military doctrines meant that Hamas had no real prospect of convincing Israel not to destroy the civilian infrastructure in Gaza. Hezbollah didn't cross that threshold and, instead, acted with great caution throughout (arguably too much).

Yemeni ballistic missile hits Ben Gurion airport from 2000km away, Arrow and THAAD "multiple" attempts to intercept the missile all fail, 8 Zionists injured and part of Ben Gurion is closed

Yemen hit one of Israel's most sensitive sites relatively accurately with one missile fired from 2000km away, successfully evading multiple THAAD and Arrow interceptors.

This might be the longest range of a ballistic missile strike in combat in history ?

Trumpy and his minions have failed miserably.

Instead of indiscriminate bombing Yemeni civilians they should have pulled the leash on their mad dog Israel.

Is the reason for houthis launching 4 missiles in 48 hours possibly a lot to do with the Iran-US negotiations coming to a stall and being postponed? Iran flexing their muscles a bit and showing that even the Houthis facilities can't be reached.

It's funny seeing the lemmings all follow the narrative that a single Houthi missile got through THAAD and Arow3 defenses so Houthi missile stronk and totally missing the forest through the trees... or is it missing the trees through the jungle? Fk it. What I'm trying to say is this Houthi missile getting through just gave Israel the excuse to blame Iran and so they are. Now the talk among Israel is to hit back at Iran. Isreal hasn't been happy with Orange man negotiating with Iran and has been looking for an excuse to strike Iran and with this Missile hitting Israel now they do.

Just saying.
