so the outcome is that there will be no indian military adventure, they stopped water on chenab and jehlum to pakistan

this is far more aggressive than dropping nuclear bombs on pakistan

what will pakistan do? options ?
Duffers won't do j@ck$hit...

"Water flows in the Chenab, recorded at the Marala headworks, decreased from up to 35,000 cusecs on Sunday to about 3,100 cusecs on Monday morning."

"They have almost blocked the River Chenab flows to downstream (Pakistan) after they (Indian authorities) took the decision on Sunday,” a senior official of the Punjab irrigation department confirmed on Monday."

So what is Pakistan going to do about this? Or are we waiting for some Indian attack that is never gonna come while Indians destroy the rabi crops of Punjab?

yes, it has started to look like this. While Indians start to reduce our water flow, faujeets are busy in sucking their own kulfi.

I have been listening to all sides on this issue of IWT for several days, including international experts and there is another perspective to this as well. First of all, even if India builds reservoirs to stop complete water from Pakistan, India can only ever block upto 35% of Pakistani water. As that much water originates and flows through India before adding into our own sources of water and ice. We get 65% of water form mountains, rainfall and snowfall within our own Northern Areas, or which originate too close to our borders to be blocked. But we have no capacity to store it and it just wastes away into the Ocean. Thus we keep relying on all year around natural flow of rivers to sustain our agriculture. Unlike many others including China who have built up capacities to store as much water as they can, from within their own territories, especially.

The water wars ARE going to happen. There is no way around it. Indian states are infighting for water already. Two years back, 3 of the Indian states had actual fights between their police forces at their borders, due to water sharing. So India will also have no choice but to do something about it.

I think its more important for us to build effective Dams on our side. If we do, we won't have to rely on India anyway. Our own Ice, rain and other sources will fill our reservoirs enough for our needs, by the time India finishes any projects on their side. For another 5 - 8 years we will really not face any meaningful issues from India on this matter, but if we ignore this now and do not start building Dams of our own, then yes ! We will ! So its also important for us to stop making this an issue of our ego.

Lets face the reality. We can either go to war with India so neither they, nor we store any water. Or we can also take responsibility for ourselves and start building as many dams to store enough of the water that originates within our borders and I hope our politicians and establishment are aware of this. If not then we also need to take responsibility and push our politicians to take responsibility and take care of this matter before India builds up their own reservoir capacities. China can easily help us o this matter and we can take care of it all.

Problem is no new dam is allowed to build in Pakistan by Sindh. Thats the only way to fight India water terrorism of stop and release in dry months.

Approve Kalabagh dam on emergency basis.

water supply can not be stopped for long time....

Don’t you see where this is heading? Today, it’s “they can’t stop the water for long”; tomorrow, it’ll be “they can’t stop it for very long”.... and the day after, we’ll be saying “they’ve dried us out.” Maybe the damage seems minimal now, but their intent couldn’t be clearer. If we don’t act while we still can, they’ll expand their water storage and leave us with no leverage. Fooling ourselves with lines like “they can’t hold back enough water no matter how many dams they build” or “not for long” is exactly the narrative India wants us to settle into. That’s the new normal they’re quietly manufacturing..... one slow choke at a time.

I think during the process of taking care of a certain 'laadla' of the establishment, since 2022, our state seems to have learned how tot take care of any such people who go against the interest of the country for their own egos.

Most of all, the state has become kind of thick skinned about people/parties that talk trash against them or attack their image. These lessons can be equally applied on people who don't allow the vital dams to be built, ignore them from here on and just building the Dams no matter what they say or shout about.

There is nothing new about this happening. India has been doing this since last decades. I have been reading such news almost every year. Now its just in headlines because of the current ongoing issue. The only difference this time is that India did not give a notice, like they usually do. Earlier Pakistan used to get notices so we used to have plans ready on how to release our own reservoirs. This time it will be a little more complex to do it, but still, our needs can be met.

What we do need to worry about, is to build emergency reserves of water and Dams in the next 8 - 10 years ASAP, before India starts blocking more and more water. We need to be able to store enough water from our own ice/rainfalls to stop caring about inflow of water from India.

Just today I was watching a debate on Geo news where some independent experts were grilling PMLN/PPP/PTI politicians for not working on Dams and all of them were busy blaming each other. And the experts were warning to them to stop fighting each other and start acting from now. that is the real issue.

Indian media is self-soothing, while our media says an opposite narrative. Believe what you like because all you have is your beliefs at present.

???

That's not my post I pasted what he said on X because it's nothing but an excuse why India is delaying.

Don't be sophomoric.

Take a close look, is there a second PDF USA member replying to this thread other than you impostor?

You are the only Indians who still fantasize that the West really cares about you Indians.
