I'm trying to find out data about the Pakistani air war. It seems that the J10C Pl15 combo is good enough to shoot down a Rafale. So the Chinese air force is better than I thought. Could this change the Iranian leadership's attitude towards Chinese planes and weapons?

Any elements showing what shot down the rafale? It could have also been an HQ-9 battery or a PAF F-16

For the Chinese planes and weapons, Iran doesn't have a bad view of them, only that China doesn't propose Iran updated assets like J-10C or JF-17, but only proposed obsolete J-10A variant

For the Chinese planes and weapons, Iran doesn't have a bad view of them, only that China doesn't propose Iran updated assets like J-10C or JF-17, but only proposed obsolete J-10A variant

But the problem it is IRIAF have only experience, training and logistic in chinese military aviation just on J7/FT7. The backbone of IRIAF logistics relies upon US and Russian technology. So, the incorporation of something big and techologically advanced like a J10C or J16 would require more money and time than the incorporation of a F16 block 70 to tell it mild, so in reality the only practical way represents Mig29M2 or 35 and Su35 right now.
The rest would require years of training.

Russia is never going to deliver Su-35s, no one bought MiG-35, and Egypt which operates M2 itself bought J-10Cs. We have seen how important radars and missiles are with J-10 shooting down Rafales, the best 4th generation aircraft in western inventories. There is no excuse in purchasing inferior Russian aircraft. If it takes years of training to adjust for J-10 and JF-17, then they better start today.

Integrate Su35 shape with advanced radars and missiles——then you got J-16!

Back on topic, I agree it’s only a waste of money to pursue Su35 since it’s useless facing Zionist F35. Keep developing UCAVs as you have been doing seems more rational giving the gap between IRIAF and IsraelAF. It’s unrealistic and economic to catch up in manned jet, so why not just focus on unmanned jet, which will be mainstream in foreseeable future, and I believe Iran can do it.

China proposed Iran with J-10A, i don't know the exact date and circumstances they proposed it but someone here could tell you about this

So it must be quite a long time since the manufacturing pipeline of J10A was shutdown more than a decade ago.

Meanwhile, J10A uses Russian AL31 engine, which means it is resticted to be exported since Russia may not allow. J10c is free of such problems since it uses domestic WS10.

Now , with China and J35 as contender, we should put pressure on Russia for more transfer of technologies and better deal ...

I am predicting that Russians won't deliver any Su-35 till the west use JCPOA trigger mechanism and bring back all Security Council sanctions, so then Russians will use it as an excuse to cancel the deal and don't pay any penalty....

The russians simply played the old senile descion makers in tehran for n times ...

As Far as I know , China offered them in massive numbers ....
even having 100 j10a is far better than playing with refurbished F5 for years.

IRIAF could asked for license production of JF17 when the world wasn't sensitive about it , but those old senile decision makers simply are living in 1980s , 1990s and mock both Pakistanis and Chinese fighters ...
They choose the worst thing they could do and that was "DOING NOTHING"
