Just how in the world were you expecting a ceasefire to accomplish anything on #4?

This has nothing to do with the ceasefire. Those discussions will go on for yet another eternity. It is wishful thinking on either side to suggest other can be forced into a desired outcome. Pakistan and India are not going to get cowed down by each other. They will have to get "tired" of this and then realize, talks is the only way out. The world has experience with that. You will see that happen with Ukraine, Russia soon enough. France and England fought each other for 100 years in which 3.3 million lost their lives and then landed on a table for talks which led to peace.
- Call it wishful thinking on my part. For me the Pakistan vs India conversation is a unique case, which you cannot compare with the Ukraine vs Russia conflict, or rather other conflicts in history simply based off the fact that both have the capacity to take the other off the face of the map for centuries to come, no matter the conventional disparity in troops/equipment -- and in doing so cause consequences for the entire world beyond just south asia.

- It is that line of thinking which then almost guarantees intervention by large powers like the US/China/Russia/the gulf etc. to knock some sense in to these two countries, and that is where diplomatic efforts need to be made to make these two strategic objectives center stage i.e. the water issue as well as article 370, for if even one remains, the issue will persist potentially causing war, risking mutually assured destruction once again. Just my 2 cents.

You can do better as a think tank.
I understand your support to your side, then you could have kept quiet for the time being and opened up later.

As a Think Tank, your assessment that losses were there only on one side, in clashes of this scale, might make people stop having faith in the word Think Tank.

There are bound to be losses of significant proportions on both the sides.

Those can’t be compared objectively, one to one, but overall the damage on ground is likely to be evenly comparable.

Fanboys and Bhakts have a different mindset and they turn a loss also in victory but anyone with a level head would know this fact.
Judging by the high quality critical analysis in your post, you would definitely pass for just a "tank".

Behind which areas exactly?

They're behind the US when it comes to lawyers and the litigation industry. Technologically on par, but pulls ahead in a lot of key areas. Especially when it comes to scale

Are we talking military or other tech? This is a vast topic like if we’re talking cars Chinese are killing it but then there’s a lot of other tech China is still well behind

We’re talking about a country that 25 years ago wasn’t even in the discussion so it’s still very impressive

militarily Americans have stuff that is unparalleled. USA could take on the whole world and may still defend itself.

What do you think would be good criteria and practices for determining the validity of claims, that can be adopted by both sides?
There can be no criteria for that. Both nations can’t even agree to the direction of the sunrise.
Agreeing to losses is out of question. Claims and counter claims would be made with pages and pages of BS and countless memes.

I would just enjoy the process.
I do hope that mods play a better role than that shown by few on this thread.

Do your military budget and government budget is enough for 3-month total war!?
An all out Pakistan-Indian total war will not last three months. The population of this planet will be reduced by about 1.5 to 2 billion within weeks.

".. the 99 out of 100 will die.." prophecy applies in this scenario more than anywhere else.

If you think the Ganges River is a totally dead river now, wait till after the next war.
